    • Desire RC - Think it, Build it, Fly it

Hi all,

Just thought I'd let you know that my company Desire RC Ltd will be manufacturing the "Alex Mos" Gimbal Controller soon.

For any of you that have an interest in a stunning stabilised camera platform and you have  not yet seen this amazing controller then take a look here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e5enRVS8JxA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sv2IF7V-nv0

We are now going through the process of obtaining all the information so that we can get the boards manufactured here in the UK. We are also looking at providing the specialist gimbal (initially for the GoPro and similar) along with specially wound brushless motors.

As a commercial aerial photographer, the holy grail of a professional level of camera stabilisation is an ongoing journey. I use an AV200 gimbal with skyline stabilisation control which set me back 1000.00. The next level up is the Zenmuse system and that is about 3500.00.

When I saw how damn good this little Alex Mos controller is I was completely blown away. Add it to an effective and well thought out gimbal which will probably add up to no more than 300.00 - now that's a game changer.

The cost for the controller board will be approximately 99.99. I have no idea how much the gimbal will be 'cos we haven't designed it yet! So here is the offer guys..... if there are any of you out there that would be interested in designing and possibly making a suitable gimbal that could make use of the Alex Mos controller then please let me know and if we end up using it then you will get cut in on the gimbal deal which we will distribute.

Cheers,

I might chase you up for some stuff regarding this when I start my next project (or us that next next... I lose track lol)

Anyway, good move bud.

Off topic slightly so i apologise, but I see rangevideo are looking for resellers - shoot vova an email if you're interested. You'd be the only one in Europe so far as they've never gone the dealer route before.

I'm interested in an RVjet personally but their OSD is the mutts nuts too (already have one so don't need more for now).

The performance of that thing is amazing.

At that sort of pricing it's a no brainer... the question is the gimble being that it's based around brushless motors and not servos so someone is gonna have to design one of these.

dogzilla - sorry - don't understand your comment. The pan & tilt mechanism in the front 'bubble' IS servo operated. It can hold a 'small' fpv camera or a GoPro.

He's talking about the brushless gimbal, which is what this thread was about before I mercilessly hi-jacked it

Haha sorry.

Oh and Simon I could certainly take a stab at designing the gimbal by the way... I was intending to at some point anyway!

I already have my CNC machine to prototype some parts and within "5-7 weeks" or so will have a 3D printer too.

If you want to contact me to chat about It I believe you have my email.

Things are progressing - got all the details from Alex tonight. I hope to trawl through them over the next few days and then start the process of manufacture, already got a few ideas about adding things that will enhance the board!

Zee - I'll drop you an email when I have a clearer idea of things buddy, perhaps I can take advantage of your very  obvious skills!

Exciting times

It is an interesting race to market for sure.

The Russians, the Germans and the Chinese!

The YUN-1 looks nice... A third axis would be great ;-)

Just a heads up - we have completed the layouts for the alex moss controller (real name Aleksey Moskalenko) and have most things set for manufacture here in the UK. We are working with Aleksey on this directly.

We are now waiting for some pre-production boards so that they can be tested to ensure we are happy with the design and function. I hope (if all goes well) to hit the go button on manufacture by the end of March for availability somewhere in May.

In addition I am talking to some motor manufacturers about pre-wound motors for the gimbal.

IMPORTANT: I'm looking for a couple of people that have the wherewithal to test the boards, so if you already have special wound motors and perhaps some kind of gimbal platform which could take advantage of the Alex Moss controiller - then drop me a pm with your details.

All good fun.

Cheers,

Hi Simon
will you be selling just the motors and controller, so I can design my own gimbal frame.
