This is a Mini Talon thread, and considering the prop is right at the back and all the thrust is directed horizontally through the intended CG of the aircraft, 100% throttle should not result in any adverse conditions on a correctly set up plane

True, with the exception of those using 12 Inch diameter, big pitch props and low kv motors for maximum efficiency during cruise.
Give these WOT at launch and you will suffer hideous torque roll...

Its why I went the 8 Inch Prop route, easier to hand launch....

I think the main effect a smaller prop will reduce is p-factor.  I do wonder if many failed launches are due more to this than any torque issues as such.  I once had a situation where unbeknownst to me the motor was very slightly loose on my flyingwings Falcon, only few degrees off but it made it an absolute pig to launch. Then when I realised and tightened it up it was fine again and pretty much just flies right out of my hand

Which is why I think p-factor is probably another excellent reason to not throw your plane upwards, with that high angle of attack the thrustline is effectively altered just the same as if you had a loose motor and then bad things can happen.

Anyone who's put a 12" prop on a mini talon deserves to get their fingers chopped off.

As mentioned above, do we know what happened to the MT in banggoods EU warehouse? Mate of mine was about to buy one and it's not there any more. Which suggests they might have stopped stocking it? Usually they just state under restock if its simply out of stock.

One of the BG staff posted this in the discussion section on the 15th: "Hi SilverSurfer,we are transporting this item to the EU warehouse,it will need few months."

Doesn't look too hopeful  :(

Perhaps a Chinglish misinterpretation? Months meaning weeks?

My guess is months actually mean months. Small items from China to EU on airmail can take months... I bet these are on a slow boat to save costs.  :(

Nice, that's an absolute bargain - I wish all planes were that cheap.

Hi Guys,

I finally managed to get out for a fly with the MT on Thursday evening. With family commitments and a house move imminent it's been hard to find the time to get out recently.

Anyway had a good fly round with the MT,  some high flying, bit of low, scared a few crows and did my first ever FPV loops, rolls and inverted.

Now I know that will seem like no big deal to many of you guys but I was quite pleased with myself.   I've been flying FPV for a few years  but have never trusted everything to stay where it should when inverted especially a big fat lipo .....  anyway all went well and it should pave the way for pushing it a bit more.  Shouldn't be long before I'll be piling it into to ground inverted rather than the usual way up. :D

I still didn't push out far with the range, I'm still nervous after the prob's I had with the ezuhf early on.  That said, new antennas from bignose13 seemed to sort the problem, only for it to return when I started using the mobius up front to record.

Taking advice from the hub, I've switched to a runcam 2 and that problem seems to have gone.    I've got the runcam 2 lens on an extension cable poking through the foam at the front.  Its just a tight fit in the foam, not glued and so maybe on a front impact it will move and be pushed inside.  That said it looks from this vid like it needs a twist as it's not 100% level.

All in all, a really enjoyable evening that reminded me why I enjoy fpv so much.  Having got back and reviewed the vid I think why didn't I go out furthur, higher, out lower etc,  but that's all to do next time.

The MT is proving a great all rounder.  I still think I need something faster for some days but this ticks so many boxes, it'll be probably my go to plane.   I have another funjet ultra to build up and a video problem to sort on the venturi but with time short at the moment it's great the have such a versatile plane that is now hassle free.

Regards

Mark

A Mini Talon is all the plane anyone needs ;)
Sorry disappointingly l have to agree. I want to fly another plane but there seems no point because the Talon is a great all rounder. I've bought a small wing (S800) and that'll be me sorted.
