Hm sounds like ESC is not capable of high KV.
I use the BL20a (high kv setting, BlHeli) with the HGLRC 7500kv on 2S

My Wii Wing (condition: slightly worn) is ready to get back in the air.  The Eachine 1000TVL camera I'm hoping should get rid of the distortions that the original TX03 had.  The downside is that it's larger than the TX03 and so sticks out a tad

I'll just have to not crash it onto the nose.... that hardly ever happens.  The VTX part of the TX03 works well though and is just attached to the back with a bit of hot glue.

Those AKK Tech people are sending me out a few micro cameras, so I'll be able to test if any are better suited on my Wii Wing Mk2 build

Nice little camera, When I first designed this wing I wasn't thinking FPV, but I did end up putting one on it,
if this setup is what people are looking at using for this wing, then It would be good to design a FPV version, perhaps cut the battery box sideways to give a little room at the front.
the mark 2 has an extra 5mm on the battery bay, because of the swept wing gives me a bit more length.

Watch out for using hot glue on those VTXs as they get quite warm in use. I re-glued the lens onto one and the glue softened mid flight and went out of focus.  :+

Hi bud
the CG on the Wii wing 2 is about 30mm from the motor mount trailing edge.
I have cut a 600mm one out for my brother if you wanted one of them, or like Badlands, you can scale a wii wing up, i'm happy for people to do that.
but at the moment i'm not to keen on uploading the plans.
sorry G

I've finished my Wii Wing 2 build this morning and it's ready to maiden (but not today, as the weather is poo)

Not too different from the original, same motor, same-ish servos (these ones from Banggood instead of HobbyKing), 6A plush again, a 3rd party FrSky compatible rx.  This time for the camera I'm using a little 5v camera from Akk-Tech called the KC28 (I've got another one from them called the CA30 which looks exactly like the Eachine CCD on the original, but this is a bit lighter) and I've attached that to a Eachine VTX03.  You will notice this has a sleeve dipole of sorts instead of a skew - so will see how that goes.  If it's not good, it's just a little UFL connector to swap out for a skew.

looking like a nice clean build, I have been flying with some 330mah batteries, they fit OK in the slightly bigger battery bay.
good luck with the maiden.

Its looking good Wayne.

Do you know if that KC28 cam gives a 'warping' image like the cheap BG cams?

I'm hoping not - I'm basing the fact that the entire camera looks identical to the Lumenier SMC-600 (aside from not having a mic) even down to the fact you need to cut the base off else it doesn't fit anywhere.  I have this camera in my  Lift-RC 220 (which now has 2 broken arms) no warping on that one, and as far as CMOS cameras go it's very good.  That said, we have now of course the option of the RunCam Micro, which is bound to give the best picture.

Weather looks good for tomorrow, so fingers crossed I'll get out and see !

Can report that the camera works well - and no distortion.  Maiden video is up here

! No longer available

I also managed to lose the Wii after the first flight and it took me an hour to find it.  Moral of the story is that if you can't use your right hand to press a button on your goggles, then land.  Don't use your crappy left hand that doesn't know what it's doing and presses the mode button to go into 3d, then hdmi and then something else
