Hi Sundee, thanks for that, I was planning to laminate but might give it a go.
Cheers

So guys what do we think of the mini drak?

Flight times, characteristics, build time, robustness etc. Is it worth the money?

No regrets from me...

Build time was extended for me but I took my time as I enjoy it
Flight times - 10-15mins on 3300 4S
Every flight ive been moving the lipo back a little - it now rolls ridiculously fast!
Its EZ to launch (100% now)
Super tough - ive bounced it a few times on the nose - no damage
Looks very cool in the air

I flew it in the peaks recently - had a father & sun come over & say 'we saw this flying from over there - that's a drak isn't it?'

For me - flying it low & fast is where it excels - ive heard it described as being 'digital' it just does what you tell it to do - no weird tendencies - my vector is wasted on it - only use it for the home arrow! haha

Awesome Report, you nailed It! Digital predictable and supremely durable. It has the ultimate in performance without being a throwaway performance aircraft. Crash per $ rating extremely High. A 4S 5200 makes it a little more stable in windier conditions but will give you extended flight times. Are you running my power system on it? It's really funny to see you say that's the only reason you have a vector in it it's for the home Arrow. Sometimes I feel the same way. I do love the vector because is so nice to have airspeed Horizon and your amp draw and usage. Otherwise I find myself also flying it pretty much in full manual most of the time. The vector is really nice for takeoff modes and rth. Try it with the 5200 in it this gives you a lot of fun flight time while being in full manual and ripping it on the deck. One thing you'll find is a lot of your proximity inhibitions will go away because of how durable you know the aircraft is. You will get it closer to the ground and be going faster and pushing the limits more than you will with just about anything else. I think the worst I've damaged mine is snapping The Spar when I cartwheeled it at 100 miles an hour. Otherwise  there was really no other  damage .  I know I'm biased but I absolutely love this plane it's a fun factor x 10.

After finally getting back to my MD build, I managed to finish and maiden it all in the weekend  ;D

What a great little plane! Fast, fun, easy to launch and handle... I can see why this quickly becomes peoples favourite plane

Everything went very well on the maiden, only issue was my AP was playing up in some areas inc in stabilise mode, it took a dive for the floor so I stuck it back in manual (yes I checked on the ground and i'm pretty sure the controll surfaces were reponding correctly to me pitching and rolling in my hand)... it was getting late so didn't have time to look into it. I only have the AP as an insurance policy for RTH... and it's nice to have the OSD. This will be flown in manually 100% of the time unless i lose video feed etc.

Couple of pics of the finished build in the field, video to follow:

Hi everyone, the slow builder returns. Plastidip & laminate, colours were chosen for unassisted LOS flying initially but I'm planning to try a Guardian on it in due course. As a relatively inexperienced flyer, I'm looking for advice on control surface deflections. I note that Jake set 3mm reflex and anticipate aileron deflection will be about 50% of elevator deflection. I'll be flying a 4000 4s or two 2200 3s and C of G at the recommended point. your thoughts would be welcome
