Today's flight with the Aeromax equipped Micro SkyHunter..... This was seconds before I managed to pile-drive it into the ground again  :P

I think the speed is pretty accurate according to the damage it caused  ;D

The chrome app, or the standalone (java) version.  I've used both on my iMac.  You having an issue ?

As promised, here is the AEROMAX OSD wired as a stand alone Navigator.

This may help those less confident at working from just a schematic wiring diagram. As you can see, it makes a very compact package using the suggested GPS receiver.....Sorry about the giant ESC, it's just what I had to hand at the time..lol.
I replaced the 4 single pin plugs provided on the GPS with a Four Pin one so its easier to plug in and out without mistakes.

Note: In this setup, the tiny solder pad is soldered over so that the Camera and VTX are powered by the same Pin Slot which the signal and ground is in, this makes for a tidy install with no cable splicing.....Nice.

Ah, yes....the comm baud rate is 115k.....The trick is....plug the FTDI and OSD in first...wait...then run the APP.....:)

Ditto what ET said.  On my mac on the old configurator I certainly needed to plug everything in and then start it up - the serial port won't dynamically appear, I guess it scans the available ports at start up and presents them to you.  I can't remember if that was the case with the chrome version as well though

Hi Wayne,

Its definately the case with the Chrome APP running inside a Windows 10 OS for example..A MAC just simulates a PC doesnt it..?
I dont think the APP has all the bugs ironed out of it, but since the suggested GPS comes pre-configured for the AEROMAX it seems to work ok out of the box.
That said, I have yet to get the RSSI to work for either FrSky or my EZUHF...Need some input from Shikra on that one I think...So far, I really like it.

I got one of these delivered yesterday and intend to use it as a standalone osd in my MT. I'm either being particularly dense this morning or something, but I can't find anywhere that tells me which pins to use to connect it too my programmer. Help?

Follow this link, Chris:
https://github.com/ShikOfTheRa/scarab-osd/blob/master/OTHER/DOCUMENTATION/VIRTUALPILOT%20AEROMAX/VP%20AEROMAX%20OSD%20-%20full%20system%20connection%20example%203s.JPG

It's the row of 6 pins you need (at the top right of the above diagram, it's the left column of pins......if that makes sense).

Remember to connect the TX on the Aeromax to RX on your programmer and RX on the Aeromax to TX on your programmer.

Thanks, I thought it probably was but thought I'd check first.

For those who may have missed it, here is the Aeromax OSD being test flown in my Skyfun.

Test of both Model and Aeromax package....just seeing how well its going to work...:)

Impressed so far, although it appeared to drop the Sats briefly for some reason....
