Having flown the Skyfun again....I had it dropping Sats again for some reason....On the up side, it didn't loose the Home position and was within a metre after the flight.  It did stop reporting groundspeed for a little while, so it would appear it had lost Sats somehow....
It seems sporadic to me as I haven't moved anything around, and some flights it's flawless, strange.

Anyone else had a similar experience using the suggested Sat receiver...?

I do when flying inverted for too long 
Normally if decent sats its OK, but have had experience with low sats and drop outs from 1.2 ghz vtx, 2.4 Vtx  and 2.4ghz frsky telemetry.

Everyone forgets that FRSKY telemetry rx contains a tx. Me also - I never gave it a thought until I upgraded frsky to a telemetry one and then wondered why it than took ages to get sats tehn kept dropping.
Think you are using UHF – so shouldn’t be any issues.

Going back to the days of my F450, I always had problems with the GPS which was finally pinpointed to being EMI coming from the battery wires.
ET, if your battery/ESC wires go near your GPS, you may want to consider a faraday cage around them. Simple copper 'slug tape' will do the job but make sure you earth one end to the negative battery lead.

  Hi Tony,
Ah,yes...although the entire FPV rig is inside the canopy, the Sat Puck and its wiring is pretty near (and parallel with) the ESC feeder cables, with the ESC further away right next to the motor.
I will have to get some of that tape and try what you suggested, thanks mate...:)
