Mobius on A ZMR 250, what Weight Balls
« on: April 19, 2017, 07:27:52 PM »

I have a Mobius in its holder mounted on the plate on the top of the Quad.  I wondered what weight balls I should have on it as the current stock ones seem a bit squishy?

I've not bothered with those things for years, just doesn't seem to need them and every time you crash they'll come adrift.  Just strap it to the frame.

Ha ha that's exactly what it did, flew off, ejected the camera.

I just use what came with the frame. They are fastened to the frame with cable ties to stop the Mobius frame from ejecting. In fact the rubber balls are not even in the holes of the frames.
I do not suffer from any jello.
Hope that helps.

Another ZMR250 question, now I am beginning to fly a little bit faster I am losing sight of the horizon so find it hard to judge height. Is there an angled camera mount for the ZMR that would help with that?

For the FPV cam or recording cam? My FPV cam (run cam eagle) came with a mount that you can set the angle. The go pro on the top is mounted in a 3D printed holder at about a 30 angle. This is all on a ZMR frame

I wouldn't bother with the servo actuated one, it's needlessly complicated and just something else to break.  When I had a zmr250 I had a board camera that was just held in with zip ties at the bottom then I just wedged it to whatever angle I wanted with some foam at the top between the front pillars and the top of the camera.

What you'll realise when you start to get into it a bit more is that to a large extent your camera angle determines your speed rather than vice versa.  When you add ten degrees to the camera the only thing you realise is that in "level" flight i.e. with the horizon centred, you're going faster than you were before.

Assuming that is that you're not trying to fly in some sort of auto-level mode.

No, I am flying in 100% manual mode with CurryKittens Betaflight recommendations for beginners. I do struggle with keeping the height constant and flights can get a bit "wayward".
