There seems to be quite a bit of interest in this setup (understandably) so here is the part 2 of the review I first posted.

New Runcam Split combined FPV/HD cam

This would work really well on a small wing too. Not so sure about mini quads though because superview is a bit of a must have and this doesn't have it. Even 1080 wide on a GoPro isn't immersive enough once you've watched videos with superview.

Really?

For me, all superview really does is introduce weird vomit inducing distortion (?)

It works better if you have nearby objects (which there usually is with miniquads) than for landscapes (fixed wing) but in either case vomit inducing is probably exaggerating!

I'm undecided on this idea from a plane perspective..  I like the idea of reducing the amount of bulk you have to stick out on the nose affecting both your cog and increasing drag, but... A hd camera is one of the most expensive components on your plane. The benefit of a traditional hd camera is it is self contained. I only need to buy one and with a bit of Velcro I can move it between all my models. Buying one of these for every plane is a lot more than an $18 fpv cam from BangGood.

Maybe they'll start selling the camera part separate in the future which might make it more appealing. Embed the camera and cable in each plane and swap the board between them..

Can see the appeal maybe for Quad use, but Fixed Wing..?....Just use a Runcam 2 as your FPV Camera and record at the same time..? Been doing that for years with a Mobius.
I like the wide angle view personally as it works really well on a Monitor, even with the weird format Moby, maybe not so good in goggles though?

It looks very vulnerable with that delicate ribbon cable...Obviously aimed at the Quad market.

That's a really good point. A self contained HD cam can move between models, I can see it getting expensive if you buy one of these for every model, then there's the SD card management of all your models. Having a single HD cam for all your models seems better if you have a lot of them.

However, if you just have a single quad and want a really neat compact lightweight build but HD is a must, this is definitely a good solution.

Sounds like a good deal. I've got a little mini wing on the way that it could be perfect for.

OK, maybe a bit but it does funny things to my brain.
Possibly down to my wonky eyes though. I am short sited and have astigmatism so use fairly strong correction.
