FPV-ing the ASW glider.
« on: August 10, 2017, 09:16:42 AM »

Got a little bit of 'dryness' to try out the ASW-28 fpv kit. ;)
I'm still getting used to it but so far I'm really enjoying this big old bird ;D

Hermans doing a grand job.

He might appreciate this instrument panel. I printed it out and stuck it in mine.

Thanks beesleyboy,
actually I was looking at a vid from inside the real thing and it had similar reflections.
One day I'll actually remember to turn on the digital screen and see if it actually works! ;D

Love it! How useful is the ribbon in FPV flight? Which of the camera views are you FPVing with?

Cheer's tim,
I connected the camera's up to a two way camera switch so I can choose which ever I want now which helps.
The "tell tail" ribbon is probably of use to some but to be honest I don't find I'm noticing it.
Maybe it's not flexible enough ? When I used them on a boat I once had they were very useful but in miniature I'm not convinced as yet. :-\
Oh-and thanks Jake for the pic mate.

Cracking video - I loved all the different camera angles you had and the cockpit view.  I must admit to finding the idea of a scale plane where you even include a pilot a very interesting idea.  You'll just have to work on your scale landings a bit :D

If you are flying it using the Cockpit Camera, then well done, not sure the view is good enough for me to do that....The Tail Camera would be nice though, that was a nice perspective and you can see exactly what the bird is doing from that angle.

The wind noise from the cockpit was a bit spooky, rather like Alien 2....lol.

  Nice project, and different.....:)
