Night Flying with the Runcam Owl Plus
« on: August 23, 2017, 10:55:39 PM »

So I went out in the dark to try out the Owl Plus, very impressed so far. It was like a summers day and there was very little light despite the overexposed sky on the HD cameras - it was very dark indeed yet in the goggles it was like a summer day.

Nice job Steve, those Owl Cameras are something else...just a tiny bit of ambient light and you can see everything...lol

If you were to lose Video Link, do you think you could land it using just the LEDs..?

Yea easily, they're mega bright - I think it would probably be easier for me to do it like that then in broad daylight...

Steve, just purchased the same camera so hope performance matches your video.  Out of interest what is your OSD type. Is it a Cyclops Nova?

That is really impressive. I am surprised it is in colour, I expected it to be black and white. Looks great.

That looked a giggle and impressed with the picture, other benefits of night flying that spring to mind are the lack of dog walkers and calmer air win win.
Might give this a try 👍
