DALRC OSD AFH
« on: September 27, 2017, 07:35:09 PM »

New to fpv and have just installed a DAL OSD system in a fixed wing plane.  Notice on a lot of videos people seem to coonfuse the AFH with the model attitude. That is when the model rolls right the AFH rolls right.  So what is the best option for this system, should the the AFH be just that ie the attitude of the horizon wrt the model or 180 deg reversed so the AFH line rolls in synch with the model?

An artificial horizon is supposed to be exactly that, it shows the horizon. So when the model banks the artificial horizon should match the actual horizon in the display.

Me neither, maybe if the OP posted links to some of the videos.  The only reason I can think that it might appear that way was if someone had their FC mounted the wrong way round.

I mean it might come in handy if you're panning around and want to know the actual orientation of the aircraft but.. nah...

Well have re-set the system so the AFH follows the horizon. However this change has resulted in the pitch values reveresing so that a climb shows a negative value and a dive +ve.  Any suggestions as how to fix?

Flip the OSD on its axis so its upside down, then pitch will be reversed.

Are you sure you didn't have it facing the wrong way from the beginning which is why the horizon wasn't showing correctly ? Or is the "Install direction" option set wrong ?

Arrow is towards the nose, circuit board is upright so components face the sky, pcb settings are front.

Think your suggestion on pitch is the only fix I can come up with.
