looking for still camera that is close to Gopro format
« on: March 13, 2018, 06:16:35 AM »

Hi All.
I have a Tiny 2 Gimbal that uses the approx Gopro format. Looking at doing some 3D mapping and the Gitup Git2 camera I have has super wide angle fish eye lens that is not the best for stitching the pics. I can get another lens for it but the still pictures it takes are really not that good anyway.
Was wondering if there was a still only camera someone might know of that takes better pics that I might be able to fit in the Gimbal. It has a little flexibility with size but not a whole heap.

Any ideas?
Cheers

The Hawkeye Firefly 7S will give you a better picture, angle wise though, you can know the angling down but will it be enough for great stitching I don't know

GitUp now do the Git2 with a Panasonic Sensor and 90 degree lens and the Git3 Duo with a 90 degree lens. Unfortunately no U.K. supplier as yet so either take a chance on the GitUp own store or BangGood. BTW my last 2 orders from GitUp own store have gone missing in the post. 1st was normal registered from China and the second FOC replacement by GitUp was “Express Shipping” that to has gone astray. Neither tracking number is recognised by any search engine. PayPal claim in for refund. My choice would be with BG now.

Ah that's a downer losing 2 of them.  I am living in China at the moment so have plenty of local access to all their models.
I have 3 actions cams and I hardly use them. Just struggling to justify buying another.
At the end of the day they all give very average still images. Problem is I am locked into my Go Pro format on my Gimbal.

Update, there is a GitUp delivery waiting for my collection so fingers crossed. The Git2 fits the GoPro gamble etc but has the added benefit, apart from price and customer service that works, of a back screen.

The Firefly 7s has a back LCD as well, should be able to pick one up for about 50 notes

Sounds cheap, fisheye lens or not? My new Git3 has a 90 degree lens and it’s true 4K, stabilised as well. £60 from BangGood USA warehouse, bypassed customs in my cousins rucksack cos it was second hand 😉 😉
The Git2 90 deg Panasonic Sensor arrived today as well
