Your current calibration must be miles out, you will need to set it again.

Have you put a Watt meter on the model and checked the actual current draw and then a volt meter on the flight pack and record the readings. I  would do that first, then check that against the read out on the mfd osd and carry out the Cal Volts and Cal Current. Also check sensor settings>battery type. Possible  issues could be faulty or incorrect current sensor.

Please help:
my 2nd MTD using 10000mah 6s, 470kv motors,  AP setting also 6s , after 30mins flight LCD display show 3500mah juice been used, but checked with batt tester it shows only 35% juice left on batt , I had tried to discharge and charge the batt ( NEW batt anyway ) And also using separate 3s for all other electronic :  AP , Dragon Link and Gimbal !  Just can't figure it out why , my 4s set up MTD doesn't have problem like this !
many thanks for any info !

Are you using a MFD-AP on this ?

If you are you need to go through the current calibration, but don't do it like the manual, do it like I show here for much more accurate results :

Well with only a few bits left to do on the Talon it was about time to start on this ole girl. I had a few weeks ago finally plugged in the replacement MyFlyDream Autopilot and to my horror ( literally ) found the hard way that the camera that had smoked previously on the kitchen worktop was not in fact the failed component but instead it was the current sensor. I plugged in the lipo and instantly up went the brand new AP ! ( Suffice to say I was not amused )

So after that there was no way I was ploughing any more money into MyFlyDream products for a long while so I decide to go with the Matek 405-Wing board the same as the Talon. It gets great reviews, costs fractions of the cost too.

First I pulled the gimbal back off the 450 quad as it just doesn't now serve any purpose as I have a Phantom now so that saved a few bob. I think I will remove the carbon base that was previously used as it has many holes when I was experimenting with different gimbal systems. Now I have one that's great I will make up a replacement base. ( In fact as I wrote this it started to grind on my so its now done. )

The old plate as you can see previously had the gimbal mounted inside it coming up and out, this proved a pita on landing as it would make the dampers come away in the inside, so that hole could go, as well as a few previous damper set holes too

Once it was sanded to fit the difference is a great improvement, no more air coming in disturbing everything ( which is why I think the air flow value was sometimes a bit all over too.

Before :

After :

Next came taking out the old kit and replacing with the new. First was to print a smaller anti vibration mount as I thought the larger one was a bit overkill for the board, maybe better suited to a larger APM

It seems a canny design, but if at any point any dampers come away and need reattaching. I have the suspicion its going to be a bit of a ball ache doing it :)

With no separate current sensor I made a removable harness for the board.

This way I could ( which I did ) power the board externally outside the plane, then attach it once a lot of the configuration was already done.

Then I neaten the wiring up to suit the new cabling routes and plug in points.

Nice ! )

So far surprisingly this was all from the original build that was removed

All was nearly great, but not everything, turns out the Hitec 65MG Rudder servo has not survived and I had to replace that. I have also added a separate Bec for the Mobius cameras so their supply being none essential is separate from the FC now and so is the Mini 3D gimbals for the same reason. If they go into fault the plane is not effected at all.

That is as far as I got for day 1. A few hours work but it all fires up, all modes are programmed in, the gimbal is fully operational from the Tx ( I had to start the model in the Tx from scratch. )

To do :

1) Make proper bays in the wings for vtx etc

2) Make and run wires for mobius power supplies

3) Incorporate camera switcher controls into Tx

4) Repair bodywork and re-laminate where needed.

5) Fit failsafe camera ( forward facing )

It's a great advert for the F405 Wing.....One of the things I noticed after the Ranger G2 flight, was the accuracy of the GPS derived altitude. Very stable and accurate despite disabling the onboard Baro.
The Home pointer is also faster...This board is definitely a cut above an Omnibus F4.
I have two of them now.

What size lipo will do you use for it ?
I remember how quiet it was flying past, Iíll bring mine over and we can see what 4 motors flying together sound like  :)

I am using 6S 6600mah or 2x depending if I ever get the urge to fly for several hours

Amazing build.
Why didn't I read this thread before wiring up my mini Talon :(
I feel like splitting the thing in half and starting again after reading this thread.
Nice shots of the Pennines enjoyed the flight vid as well.

Thanks very much, there is a fair bit to do to this one still before the refit is complete, but I lost the use of my printer for a while. Its back in action now though so I can carry on with it over the weekend :)

Just goes to show the potential the forum has if people keep posting threads - even for little things, people are always starting out. I bet there's a lot of "popular" people who've seen threads on here, learnt from them and not mentioned it.
