6s 22A x 2 ... ouch, at what weight do you start to see diminishing returns from duration over weight?

Gundummy

I actually thought that as well Steve. .. all the endurance multis I have seen are using li-on.

Putting a load of battery on an air frame and then following it with a chase boat just doesn't get me excited at all! Especially for what is basically a marketing spend.

This is the current record as far as I'm aware, 43km total distance covered :

Education and schoolin is good, but FPV is gooder :)

Seems like they've actually succeeded.
As regards the World record for the longest drone flight, I think that may be in dispute.

Yea.... it's almost as if they did back of the napkin calculations and just chucked lipos at it until they were sure it had enough duration, not really a huge achievement (apart from the crossing the channel bit) but it wouldn't be as impressive if they flew it over land. Meh.

What was the flight time? Do we know?

Keukpa

It was scheduled to take about 69 minutes apparently. Not 68, and not 70, but 69.  :D

Might as well have just run a tether and done it that way. Same difference if you are gonna have a chase boat :)

Gundummy

It annoyed me they claimed a world record.... and told the CEO of the company that as well....
