i trade stocks a bit, and during the leave campaign i watched CNBC, the narrative from the USA peepos was ' we would never give our power away to europe etc, the brits must be made to vote remain, but the media dont want to push that narrative'

thus i voted leave! (edited as im drinking wine while cooking my late dinner ), and made a good chunk of money shorting the ftse at the time :) dittto with the trump vote, much fun!!

I'm sure I read or saw a video somewhere stating radios with LBT firmware have a block that won't allow you to change to international firmware.

Continuing the tangent... my problem with the referendum was that it was far too complicated an issue for people to make an informed choice on. Nobody including media, politicians and business really had any idea what it would mean, so how could the electorate? It was a blind stab in the dark about one of the most important and complicated issues in our generation; and was decided in the main by people with no greater concept of the situation than ‘I don’t like immigration - vote leave’ or ‘I can’t stand that preening prick Nigel Farage - vote remain’

I voted leave for four reasons:

a) Uncontrolled borders is ridiculous and our public services are already at breaking point
b) I don't like the idea of un-elected bureaucrats 1,000 miles away being able to dictate what can and can't be done in the UK
c) I don't ilke the idea that we have to financially "level the playing field" across countries by bailing them out - i.e. Greece. - when we have our own issues at home that directly affect myself and my family.
d) stuff like VATMOSS. Ugh.

Mostly a) though.

 Hi Jono,
Yes, I heard that rumour too, its cobblers...Im pretty sure that those jobsworth nobodies that dreamt up LBT would like it to be true though.
3 sets of LBT radio I have recently converted to FCC without any problems.

Im with Steve on the EU fiasco....everything he said...100%.

Public services aren't a fixed resource, they are scaled to the size of the population.  They're at breaking point because of Tory ideology.  Immigration overall has lead to an increase in the available funds not a decrease (most of them are working, they contribute more than they cost) but simple facts like that don't stop immigrants from being a convenient scapegoat.

I still don't like the idea of open borders to any EU member state "just because". I think immigration should be points-based and strictly enforced. We already do it for non-EU immigrants.

Thanks mate.
Just had a confirmation from Richard at T9 and said it can be done, might have to pick your brains on changing from LBT TO INTERNATIONAL

And that's a perfectly reasonable argument to have.

But so many of the notions put forward by leave were just nonsense.  The idea that we would save money.  You've got a car boot pitch every sunday and you usually make £100 but it costs you £20.  So now you're £20 better off!  Ok you have no realistic plan at all about how to make the other £80 but you're £20 better off!  Idiocy.

But back in the real world we'll still need to trade with Europe which means we'll have to accept lots of their rules.  Except we just voted to not have any say in them at all.  Previously we were at the top table and when you get into the details actually had a hand in proposing lots of the rules people moan about or at the very least we agreed them.  So just a bang up job of taking back control there.

The other argument I hear when leavers get bored of facts is that they voted to leave because they were fed up of the "establishment" and *insert whatever gripe they like*.  Just beyond pathetic.

I would watch this video of what the EU project really is. Heath was blackmailed into joining the political project by the way. But watch this vid.

Hi m8,
Not going to disagree about the money we pay versus the gains, however, as I said the reasons for leaving are many..I would take issue about us having a say at the table though, and our so called Government have spent so many years following EU directives they no longer know how to run a country, May certainly doesnt.
Steves point about open Borders to all EU Passport holders is valid, although our Government is too busy serving big business needs its wide open to all comers...and thats got to stop..Forget Public service levels, there are too many people here already...LESS population is what we need, not more....
I have never voted Labour, my concience is clear.
