VTX Dip switch setting required
« on: February 13, 2018, 06:54:20 PM »

Hi all.

Help needed.

A friend of mine has bought the Kingkong hex 300 from Hobbyking but is unable to get any picture signal to his Fatshark goggles that has the standard 7 channels.

All the box info says is that it has a 32 channel VTX. No markings on the vtx.

The vtx has 6 dip switches.

Does anyone know what dip switch setting are required for for the Fatshark channels.

Thanks

If its a 32 channel Vtx it means its an RF-Sky based unit.

DIP switch wise its unit dependant, each manufacturer has different uses for each switch, so guessing the band will be the first issue. Once you have the correct band then you can use the Fatsharks to scroll through the channels to match it up.

A quick look on Hobbykings page shows the channels.

Channels:
Band A:  5865, 5845, 5825, 5805, 5785, 5765, 5745, 5725
Band B:  5733, 5752, 5771, 5790, 5809, 5828, 5847, 5866
Band E:  5705, 5685, 5665, 5645, 5885, 5905, 5925, 5945
Band F:  5740, 5760, 5780, 5800, 5820, 5840, 5860, 5880

The only 6 way Vtx I found on a quick search was this one below, the hobbyking page or picture doesn't show enough to see which Vtx it has installed :

Fatshark / Immersion are Band F

So for channel "F" Pin 4 and 5 want to be in the down position.

Thanks Coyote.

I have found that chart and another with different dip switch settings. My friend said still not working.

Been through the usual things to check via email. He is new to all this and I am not sure he grasps all the things, so have arranged to go down to his place and check out all his gear. All this and it might be his goggles.

Will update you when I have been.

Thanks again.

Update.

Problem solved.

Went down to a friends house today and basically, his new Fatshark goggles internal Vrx has stoped working. Plug in an external signal and we get a picture.

He was convinced that it was a problem with his new Kingkong hex 300. Anyway, dip switches reset and working.

Thanks
