I finally got around to watching this. I was happy to see just what your money goes on with the brand, the testing and details and quality control measures are great, which of course reflects in the price.

I wasn't so happy about Greggs reply on adding features that users request, yes some feature that he says could have a detrimental knock on effect on the rest of the workings should at all cost be avoided, but come on man, a power button ! How exactly will a power button affect the reception of an Rx, or adversely affect the display on one of the monitors  ? It wouldn't, it's just a simple button. I thought that was a complete cop out really.

But it was an interesting insight on how they build, go about testing and the company's ethics and drive for making their products.

Yeah I agree. Iím not so bothered about the power button but the lack of any low voltage protection for the power supply is just dangerous and would be n easy fix.

I've only just got around to watching this as well.  Don't they beep to warn of a low voltage ?  (as least on the standard 2s lipo anyway)

We had Grant on LDO (who you'd see lurking around in the background in that video on occasion) he seemed to infer that the reason that some of the changes didn't happen was simply the fact that the HDO's had to be built to the existing shell, and until the re-engineer a whole new shell then it'll stay much of a muchness.

Their extensive QC didn't stop another little issue getting in where AndyRC got his HDO's with light leakage through the plastic.  It turned out that the shell wasn't made with the right 'mix' of stuff to make it opaque enough.  So there's another check they've added to the QC process since.

The thing that came across to me in the interview was that FatShark are so dominant they can afford to just me 1 headline change on each new model and sell enough to make a decent profit.
All the time they are the market leader with a massive % of sales they will continue with their current business model. I can't blame them at all.
The other thing that helps them is their customer service. I believe, certainly in the West people expect to have reasonable customer service.
As soon as someone produces a decent goggle at a significantly lower price FatShark should step up their game. Until then they have lots of requested features that they can add to future models to make them more attractive, like a simple power switch, or better dvr etc.

Yeah, but unless you use the original battery (that had a built in low voltage cut off) then the goggles stay powered beeping away, which isnít much use if youíve left them powered and theyíre in the boot of your car/garage/cupboard!

And also if you're running on 3s the beeping doesn't happen until such a voltage that the lipo is basically dead anyway.
