ezuhf to vector bus problem
« on: July 07, 2018, 06:11:41 PM »

After buying a plane with a complete ezuhf and vector setup I got it all programmed into my Tarranis and working as it should. the problems started when I plugged the vector into the pc to do the final setup and config on the eagle tree software. From there the vector no longer receives a signal from the sbus connection and the plane remains unresponsive no matter what I do.
I plugged a servo into the ezuhf rx to check it was working and that was fine so the issue is between the ezuhf and the vector.
The vector was set to sbus on the software and the ezuhf rx and tx have been updated to the latest spec.
Having not used sbus before Im not sure if I haven't missed something or if there is a genuine fault. as I said it was all working fine until i plugged the vector into the pc via usb.
Any help would be great.
Cheers Steve

 Hi Steve,
EZUHF receivers do not have SBUS to feed the output stream to your Vector AP.

They have SPPM only....So in your Vector GUI, you need to set it to SPPM input.  The SPPM output will be from Channel #1 on your receiver servo output pins.

Inside the EZUHF GUI, you need to programme the EZUHF receiver to output as you require it too (Muxed).

This will include setting the RSSI stream on Channel 8. I seem to recall that works best.

                                                                                             :vulture:

Thanks for the info I will try that out tomorrow as I have just packed it all away after many attempts to sort it. Do I need to set the ezuhf channel to sppm with muxed or just ppm?
Cheers Steve

Just had a search online and immersion rc say the receivers put out sbus on channel one. So am now just a bit more confused.

 Hi Steve,

Inside the Immersion RC GUI....set the output to Muxed (this is SPPM)....So, for example I use the 4 channel EZUHF receiver, but using the SPPM stream (Muxed), it can be set as a 12 channel RX.
You can still also use the remaining 3 servo pinouts too....but the Muxed or SPPM output to feed your Vector comes from channel 1...as I said.

  It's not SBUS.....Its SPPM....which is different....SPPM = Shared Pulse Proportional Mode.

Not familiar with the Vector GUI...They may call it ppm rather than sppm......but its not sbus.

 Hope that helps.

Hi English turbines
Have got the ezuhf talking to the vector now via the sppm setting which is great but i can't get the vector to arm the outputs now as the set up wizard gives me a warning saying there needs to be a 5% throttle difference between throttle off and failsafe. Losing my hair now with frustration. Looks so easy on you tube

OK so I know nothing about ezuhf and Taranis but I know that in Betaflight you setup failsafe with your rx so on failsafe the throttle value goes below 1000. You might do this with receiver settings.

Sorry I can't help more I am sure there will be some more help here soon.

 Hi M8,

Great, I use "Link Quality" in the IRC GUI rather than RSSI. EZUHF has a digital output on its RSSI, Im not familiar with the Vectors requirements though. It may work, it may not.
It sounds like a Vector requirement to me....These things are usually for a very good reason. Read the Vector manual, Im sure it will all be revealed. Then it will be very simple in future.
