Some positive news from FrSky - which came in the same week that I managed to completely destroy an F& board with an integrated R9MM they sent me - is that they also most their wireless protocol ready for release.  This means that you should be able to do firmware upgrades over the air much like the Crossfire.

Of course, one would assume you'd have to manually update it to some level of future firmware to actually support that, but I guess it's a step in the right direction, and given that me destroying things was in part because of the stupid firmware update - it can't be a bad thing

Not a bad thing at all, but I can't help feeling they should be fixing the issues with it more than adding features at this point.

So after reading this thread with great interest it seems like the posts stopped back in February.
I am toying with buying x-lite S and either r9m lite or just xm+ rx. I only want best signal for quads in difficult signal areas no need for great kms of range.
Is the r9m system now working well or has everyone ditched it?
Cheers

To be honest I ditched it a while back, still have it but no longer followed with great interest as I once did.

The last few articles / videos seemed the newer versions were working ok.

Thanks for the honest reply. You are right that latest users seem to be happy. I think maybe frsky rushed it out to try and neutralise Crossfire but due to it not being ready they had too many issues that have taken them probably a year to sort.
For the extra 25 that r9m will cost over 2.4Ghz rx I think I will go for it.
Thanks
