Matec f405 ctr
« on: October 11, 2018, 07:09:07 PM »

Just put one of these in a new build installed an frsky rxsr receiver to the FC, its all bound and the transmitter and is getting RSSI signal from the receiver.
Problem is i cant get any stick inputs to work in beta flight. Receiver set to SBUS and ports set up correctly. Any ideas? i know the receiver is fine and the transmitter.

I know very little about FrSky but F4 flight controllers don't have inbuilt inverters. So you have to use correct uart for the rx input. So double check you are using correct uart.

From The mateksys website http://www.mateksys.com/?portfolio=f405-osd#top looks like the F405 has a dedicated pad for sBus. It seems to be labelled SBUS and is under rx2 (towards edge of board).

Have a look at the above page (Connection details, first images with SBus rx connected. that said the BetaFlight images seem to be in the incorrect order. For SBus looks like it is the middle 'Ports' image but TOP 'Receiver' image.

Hope that helps?

If yellow is Sbus, black is 0v and red is 5v on the rx then looks like it is connected correctly. Silly question but rx is bound to tx and same FW?
So on ports tab uart2 is set to serial rx.
Receivers tab set Receiver mode to 'Serial based' and Receiver Provider to 'SBus'. Then you should get stick movements on rx tab in BetaFlight.

Only other thing that I have no clue about is do you need to setup Taranis to transmit certain sticks to certain rx channels?

That is a bit weird. Not really sure what else to suggest as you have said it's a known good rx and tx.  I assume it's not easy to swap receivers between quads? That would prove rx or FC issues?

Ok its sorted the receiver needed the latest firmware update, thought i'd already done it but i hadn't. I must have done the F.Port PROTOCOL FIRMWARE instead.
