E.T.s Z84...Getting High..
« on: November 02, 2018, 05:39:45 PM »

A short clip of one of today's flights with the Z84, good visibility,a little breezy but smooth...

Conditions were good for video reception...Eachine Pro DVR recording in 16:9.

 Cheers bud,
It's now a very reliable little wing and easy to chuck in the car too.....A delight in calm air, not so good in wind as it's a bit down on power to fly upwind. Autolaunch makes life very easy, it' works like clockwork in this bird.

I stay clear of current monitoring on the cheap F4 Flight Controllers, you dont really need it anyway, just watch the Lipo voltage.
I only use current monitoring on the more capable F405 Wing board, which is still very good value considering what iNAV is capable of.

I noticed that about my Z84 as well ET - in the wind it takes forever to get anywhere - strange really since it's fairly sleek you'd think it would just cut through the air.

Agree, it's a good little wing in calmish wind, but for this country, a Mini Talon is more suited.  Heavier and more power overall.
I love flying the Z84 in calm air though, its a real delight, flies on nothing for a good 12 kms on just a 1300mah 3S.
In wind, its a different story though....takes forever just to fly upwind, as this video demonstrates.
If I built another, I would fit a 4S and a Quad motor instead, but you have to shoehorn it all in planning the layout carefully from the get go.
