First day
« on: January 28, 2019, 07:21:00 PM »

Today is may first day with airplane, I pilot with FC and at external view. What you to advise: to pilot in external view or mount a cam and pilot in first person view?
The fly is not difficult, but the landing is very hard...

You should fly externally ( Line Of Sight ) first to get the plane trimmed and level but if you never have then that may cause a complete panic.

Of course you could go fpv straight away, which is easier to trim more accurately, just be aware of tip stalls because viewing from a camera you won't see one coming unless you have a stall indicator fitted or airspeed ( not ground speed. )

Ok, I continue to fly on line of sight, when I ready to FPV mode?

Swap when you are ready, it's up to you. With planes I have always been convinced the need to be able to fly the model LOS first in case something goes wrong with the video is a must. But if you feel happy enough go straight to FPV

This is my first flight in FPV with a plane. :)
Now I have to mount a flight controller with OSD. Which do you recommend? The plane is a Bixler 2.
I still want to wait to fly long range with the Skywalker with RangeVideo OSD ... do you agree?

Congrats on the first flight, looks like everything was working fine, just a bit of jello to deal with. Any OSD now is pretty good, even the dead cheap ones still do a half decent job of things.
