Here I go through a quick way of putting together a 3S3P pack without welding the cells together or potentially damaging the cells through soldering.

If any cells start to become an issue, unlike the welding / soldering mether swapping cells out is as easy as changing a battery ..... Literally !

Nice job man.

Not sure if you've been following Vortex's new ebike build series but I did wonder about his battery packs - he has 30 or 40 cells welded together and I imagine the  chance of failure goes up and up the more cells you add just through shear volume.... it is going to suck to replace one of those cells. Saying that he needs the welds for the higher current but yea ... makes a lot of sense to do this for a low output battery.

Thanks lads, yes this is for low power consumption cases only simple enough to follow.

Ian, It's a nice easy way to do it for sure and allows cell replacement without too much hassle.

Just expanding on what Steve said about Vortex and his Electric Bike power packs, I have to say I agree with him on this. Extracting a dud cell would be an absolute nightmare in his case because it has so many cells welded together. If one of them fails, he will probably top himself....lol.

How feasible would it be to 3D print a case where the cells are simply loaded into it with a Lid on the case and some terminals or a female polarised socket in the end..? The idea behind this, is that the individual cells are removed for balance charging...Im talking about custom flight packs now..Like say 3 cells end to end like in a Torch for instance...?.Do you think it could be done..?

Yes the case could be done easily enough, the cells though could be the issue, unlike with standard cells with the +ve end sticking out proud the 18650 cells don't really so that might put a spanner in the works.

Morning great video what would have been a great addition is a wiring diagram. I always get confused on wiring the balance lead up and got a bit confused trying to follow where you connected what :)
