BBC Panorama - The Gatwick Drone Attack
« on: April 15, 2019, 01:49:44 AM »

Due to be broadcast at 20.30 tonight (15 April).
The trailer for the programme indicates the suspicion that it may have been an inside job. Hmmmm, the interviewee mentioned radio traffic, the internet and knowledge of Gatwick, all of which is in the public domain. It will be interesting to see if any credible video evidence is produced.

Could be interesting to see how they put a spin on it, could be a waste of an hour of my life, tough decision :)

We already know Panaroma creates fake news and false stories.  Just look for Panodrama on Youtube, where Tommy Robinson exposes Jon Sweeney.  So it's unlikely we'll see any truth from this documentary.

I did like the way the Chief Operating Officer suggested that as well as flying a drone that managed to evade all photography the pilot also managed to hack their email traffic to find out what was happening!!!!!!
So we have a pilot with skills to avoid photography and megga skills to hack Gatwick airports email server and read the necessary emails so avoid getting caught!!!! Come on pull the other one.
Plus they made sure not to use a DJI drone as Gatwick were testing DJI's system to identify only DJI drones and provide registered email addresses to the authorities by looking at serial numbers (that are in the transmitted data stream) registered in their database !!!!!

Basically no matter if there was or was not a drone Gatwick were unprepared for a well known threat to their business. Surely they should have had a plan to deal with such events! Well no actually, at the time of the start of this 'attack' there was no legally operable  system that could track drones and take them down!!! Even though phantoms have been delivering drugs etc to prisons for years!!!!!

It really is disgraceful that an airport did not have any business continuity plan to deal with UAVs.

All this tv program is going to do is demonise drones even more and not actually come to a conclusion.

Drone flight reconstruction seems like the best they could do.
The only alleged footage could not be verified.
However there was a late night 999 call from a couple who say they witnessed a man standing over two drones. It took the Police three days to take statements. Why, if it was a state of emergency?
I am not in the business of conspiracy theories. I merely wish to see credible evidence, none of which has been produced.
What a waste of time that programme was.

I'm sure it will be used as a legitimate source of information in due course. They're impartial at the BBC you see.

The BBC will investigate the claims of an inside job then tell you and conclude it really was a drone pilot and drones pose a real risk.
There you go dispel the truth through a fake private media company the BBC run for as a government mouthpiece.

This really put the Panorama programme and the whole incident into quiet and measured perspective.

Very good points made, none of which will be listened to by anyone who can actually make a difference in the outcome.
