E.T.s Z84....Getting in a Spin and other stuff.
« on: April 19, 2019, 05:25:16 PM »

Trying out some iNAV features with the Z84....A fly out and an unintentional Spiral Dive while I wasn't paying attention...I think I will reinstate the AHI. Hadn't realised how much I use it until it's no longer there.
When it didn't come out of the spin, I panicked a bit and disarmed the board convinced the giro was locked over by the spin, but watching the video it recovered just before I hit the switch. I had another flight after this one and no problems, I simply stalled it.

  Hi Ian,

Yeah, agreed it was my own fault, a max power steep climb out and then like a berk I turned it out of wind and throttled back to 32% with the snap spin that followed. This plane has never done a snap spin before but it's not unheard of and it shows you can still get into trouble even flying in a stab mode by being a prat...lol
Recording the live downlink is definitely an advantage when something like this happens as you can analyse exactly what happened. I won't disarm the controller again because these things get spun all over the place in Mini Quads and it doesn't bother them at all. I should have known better.
I reinstated my AHI anyway and wont do that again.
