I'm pretty excited by this new trend of quad that seem to be appearing - coined by KebabFPV, the toothpick class is designed to be a really lightweight micro.  There's been lots of build-your-own, but two RTF's came out within a very short span of each other.

First up the FullSpeedRC Toothpick.  Using a stretch-X style frame, this particular toothpick feels comparitively large (if you are use to tinywhoops) but it's still very lightweight.  Some decent feature in this one include a tiltable Caddx EOS2, a VTX that can do upto 600mw and a seperate receiver (instead of an SPI receiver)  Ok the receiver turned out to be a bit crap, but the idea was sound

Next, with a more traditional X frame and looking much more compact for it is the SailFly-X from HappyModel (the same guys that did the excellent Mobula quads)  It feels faster, but I don't like the camera distortion and lack of WDR.  The prop shafts are very thin and I managed to bend one on quite a minor crash.  It does fly exceptionally well though.

Annoyingly, there's aspects of both quads that I really like and there's no clear winner for me.  I love the pure white-knuckle ride that the sailfly gives me, but I thought we'd got rid of the ground turning to black if you look at the sun a few years ago.  Both of them need a receiver upgrade, so I think I might do that first and fly them against each other.

Hmm, yes both look great but fall just slightly short of the mark.

It seems like a similar story. i.e. the first couple of 'new' format quads that come out are not quite right then the slower companies bring out 'better' versions.
Have you tried them in the wind? With the extra power they have and no draggy ducts it would be interesting to see how they get on. I have not watched the Sailfly vid yet.
