Ok - how is he getting good video and RC link when he's clearly out of line-of-sight at times? Reflections from the rocks? Wizardry I tells ya.

Yeah, 2:16....Video Link looks impossible here...

My guess is he's using 1.2G video and possibly a 5.8G Repeater GS placed some distance away at the head of that creek looking up at those rock formations...?
Him sitting on that gravel in a low relative position also makes it look rather suspicious for 5.8G alone...He would only need clear LOS between him and the GS on 5.8G using a directional that would be easy. The 1.2G coverage using an Omni on the quad would do it.

The only problem with that video is the over-editing, it's really distracting. Cool scenery though!

You'd be wrong then :

VTX: TBS Unify Pro ( 5.8GHz )

Video RX Module: FuriousFPV True-D V3.6 5.8G 40CH Diversity Receiver

Impressive really he manages to keep a picture that is usable with the terrain.

  Hi m8,
Your quite correct re tech specs, when I watched it again, I realised the video is edited. This explains how he has done it using the equipment listed.
Funny how you pick up on stuff when you watch it twice, awestruck by the scenery TBH.

Yeah brilliant playground, bit of a bitch to get to it on foot :)

He does exceptionally well, I wonder how much he just flies through static with luck on his side :)

 Hi Ian,

Agreed, the playground is scenic for sure.....It's easy to understand how this film has been made when you realise it is edited however.

The Pilot has had a number of separate flights with base camp at different locations having first scoped out how far and where he can fly in order to maintain his video link. The video link being the weakest link rather than the control link.

There is no magic Steve, its just a Video edit of a number of different flights.
