mid-range goggles choices?
« on: August 04, 2019, 12:39:00 PM »

I'm after a new set of goggles - my EV100's have been fine to figure out if I like FPV (I do) but I think it's time for something a little better.  I would like:

- googles - not box
- better picture
- receiver diversity
- built-in DVR
- anything else I should consider?

I don't think I need swappable receiver modules - 5.8GHz will do me for now.

200 is about my limit & it seems like there are a few to choose from around this price so what should I get?

It is a difficult one as there are some good goggles kicking about at about the 250 range.
There have multiple combined reviews from Josh B, UavFutures etc.
I too have the ev100 and while they are great for the money I do wonder how much better the big brands are.
As goggles are such a big purchase I do wonder if FatShark Attitude V5 are the best bet. Fatshark do have, by far the better customer support. That said the resolution concerns me a little as they are only 640 x 400 which isn't quite 4:3 (640x480).
The skyzones have a great image, good dvr, good menu and include a rx.
Aomways are still doing ok.

I don'r envy your decision. Let us know whick you go for and how you get on.

You could try looking into used goggles, be careful though. Sometimes you can find a real bargain on fatshark dom v3s

thanks gents.  I watched the JoshB & UAVFutures group reviews videos & they were useful.  I had been leaning towards the Aomway Commanders, but I'm glad I watched those videos before deciding.  I have ordered a set of SkyZone SKY02X's - I'm not sure whether the front camera is going to be a gimmick I use once, but the rest of the goggle looks pretty solid for the price.

I did think about second hand, but I've never used any of the FatShark goggles to be able to know whether I was being sold a pup or not.  :o

Sounds good, let us know how you get on, especially in comparison with the ev100. Christmas isn't that far off  :D
