It went incredibly badly. The 50 euro German prop exploded, bent the motor shaft which then seized, the motor caught fire, also split the back of the fusion from vibration, burn out the ESC I think, and over discharged the battery as I didn't realise what happened and was trying throttle to make the landing. around 500 euros destroyed today. That is the end for me.

Ouch, that's not good. Just goes to show no matter how much testing you do things can go wrong. Is that the end of the project?

Hey guys. I don't expect any failures really as it is all very high quality components, though I am pushing all of them to their limits. But ground testing normally would find potential issues. But this time, the ground runs were all perfect. It failed through torque not RPM in flight. My suspicion is that once in the air and the prop was not stalled and really was gripping the air, 9kw of torque actually snapped the blade whilst accelerating. There is a video, and you can hear it is no where near full RPM when it fails. That was a 50 euro full carbon prop used in the German speed cup. So the best of the best. I don't know what to do now. This was always going to be my last speed attempt with electric power, and try to set a record that stuck for a while. But alas, the American still has the record at 440kmh. I would need some crowd funding or something to continue now.

Damn, sorry to hear that.

Vid? :D

Honestly though - sorry for your loss, a lot of time and effort (and money) I'm sure.
