I have just had a quick play  :) Switches all working on FrSky usb dongle thing  :)
I couldn't find the preset rates have they gone? Maybe some sort of guide for noobs as RC rate etc may not mean anything to them? Is the throttle multiplier still on 4S?

Bando is good. Must have been massive work, well done.

If those questions are in the wiki links sorry I forgot to check that bit out.

Only thing that is more an aesthetic issue is for windows users the full screen 2 menu items that are at the bottom of the screen are almost hidden by the windows tool bar. You can just make them out and about 1mm is clickable so they work just a bit hidden on Windows.

Well done and thanks for all your hard work.

I'm learning more stuff about OpenTx from your tutorials cheers.

RTFM ;)

Flight Assist mode (press A) is what you need for the rate/power presets

Didn't we talk about that full screen thing before - if you use the full screen option, then non of the start bar etc should be there, but if you essentially full screen a window then this can happen.  Answer - use the full screen option (in setup and config) for full screen, the idea of the windowed mode if to have it in a smaller window than the full screen

Yes I did bring it up before, it's just that when you start the sim for the first time it's set to full screen so the buttons are a bit hidden. Maybe set it to not be windowed by default?

I should have guessed you had all the options covered in the manual but I'm a bloke so don't do manuals  :D :D :D :D :D

Just had a look at the manual  :D :D
On the windows version you have changed the name from Quad Sim.exe to CK_FPV_Sim.exe so manual needs tweaking  :D

It seems to be running at same speed for me on my old laptop as long as I have the graphics low as always.

Hugely curious to how what's happening on your system ched.  I removed everything from the registry and made sure I had a completely clean Win10 virtual machine and run up the sim.  It started up in full screen (non windowed)

If I change this to windowed, then the bottom drops off the bottom a bit as extra space is made for the window title

I could never get it to go behind any windows task bar though.

If you do tick that box in that screen that says "run in full screen" then this get saved will survive version upgrades (except in the case of this one where I did change the name, given it's not going to be just quads in the future)

I will have a look later today and let you know, but I am using win7 not win10 so that could be the difference.

Had a quick look. My screen is 1366 x 768 running Win7.
Here are a few screen shots:

After looking properly the win bar issue only happens when I go back to desktop then back to sim, I think.
What might be more of am issue is that I think when the list of screen resolutions is created they are the actual screen res the monitor supports. When you have a windowed version of the sim somehow the res of the sim is set as per the resolution selected but then the top of the window bar is added. So the whole image including the top window bar is greater than the screen resolution. Therefore the menu items (back and version number) at the bottom of the screen is pushed too low. I guess somehow what ever screen resolution is selected should be reduced by the pixel height of the top window bar so the sim fills the window space available.

Hope that makes sense? The bottom window bar isn't an issue but the windowed version needs to be reduced by a few pixels.

Hope this helps and please don't consider this a complaint of any sorts. I think you are doing great work that will help people in the hobby. Thanks.

Oops, sorry Ched - was just coming in for an update and I realise I didn't answer yours properly.  The general idea of running windowed is that you'd run it at quite a lower resolution than your desktop - with the idea of moving between windows.  If you use a window size which is, or is very close to your desktop size, you will get this effect.... sadly, not something I can fix.  My recommendation is if you are using windowed mode, then choose and obviously smaller window than the desktop, otherwise stick to full screen mode.

Meantime, several updates.  The 0.47b version is out which adds online multiplayer, so you can feel free to meetup and fly around.

I also tried building myself an iPhone version as a test project -which actually performed much better than I thought it would.  My instinct told me that mobile isn't really a thing for an FPV sim, but a few people talked about how they like to play on a tablet.  Any thoughts ?

I've just started doing the Steam build... which I'm sure will take a while just based on the amount of info Steam want before I've even written a line of code.

Cheers for the explanation. It's not a problem for me I was just mentioning it in case you thought it might catch some out.

As for phone version, that's a great idea. I use Android and have plugged in the FrSky usb receiver to my phone and it works great (FpvFreerider). I use it if I know I am going to be sitting waiting in the car  :D

It might be difficult to manage all the versions, pc, mac, linux, Steam, iPhone etc??? Be careful of scope creep  ;D

Just another quick update as I (finally) got the sim onto Steam as of yesterday.  Here's yet another video to explain things.

Hope to be back with some more rapid updates soon as I've felt like I've been standing still whilst sorting Steam stuff out.

Just loaded it onto my old HP Pavilion laptop....Im no gamer but have to say its pretty realistic in how it all feels and flys
Cranking the camera angle to 30 degrees was fun, not so fun for my laptop, it started running its cooling fan a lot harder the faster I went.lol..

Great job Mr K...I do need to keep practicing and this is a great way to do it when our weather is crap...Thanks m8..

Another update - finally got a better FOV sorted out, and got a better sensitivity on the throttle stick

What do you guys want to see more: a plane you can fly, or a game using your quad ?
