AAIB Report into DJI Matrice 210 Incident
« on: January 10, 2020, 02:44:09 PM »

These guys are very thorough and unbiased. They blame no-one and only make recommendations.
If only all reports were this exemplary, but I guess they are not looking for readers or viewers.

Well I hope he gets fined and grounded for not measuring the width of the raindrops and the sustained rainfall rate before he took off, jeopardising the IP43 rating from the manufacturer and resulting in an accident that could have killed or injured countless blades of grass.

Totally irresponsible and a disgrace to the aviation community.

Thinking of the number of times during my drone flying career I have 'crashed' from a height of only a few metres, I'm glad I didn't need to go through such an investigation each time.
Mind you, in almost all of my crashes, it was purely 'pilot error'.

I wonder if this one will get the same level  of  investigation?

Is it really needed though?

They flew in the rain, it caused an ESC or motor to fail - recommendation: try not to fly in the rain, or if you have to, stay away from people / property.

Anything else is literally just making a job for someone.
