Hi guys,
I recently bought the DJI F450 w/ Naza and a Hitec Eclipse Pro 7 for the transmitter.
I must say I have no expericnce with quad coptors or any RC stuff, so yes I am out of my league, I should have done more research before I bought, but oh well!
I have succesfully built the quadcopter, and after hours finally got it to sync with the transmitter, which was a bit of a victory. However starting up and flying it is another story!
On the transmitter (Hitec Eclipse Pro 7) settings I have set it as 'helicopter' and NORM.
I emailed the customer support at HiTec, and they said that for quad rotor, HELI mode should not be used, but he also said he wasn't sure.
Can someone explain this to me?
I've also used the DJI Naza software to calibrate the controller, despite this the throttle is on the right side, instead of the left - which is really weird.
To be honest this receiver settings are beyond me, and I've read people talking about auto mode and manual mode with switches, etc. and I have no idea to set that up. I also don't know what channel I should be on (does it matter)? I would be very grateful if anybody could help me, I am hoping to take this on a trip with me leaving on Sunday!!

If someone has set up this transmitter/receiver with the DJI NAZA before, it would be awesome if you could let us know what settings you used and which channels. Alternatively a guide that explains everything in laymans terms would be unreal.

There's quite a bit to go through there. I don't own the radio, but the manual suggests it's mode 2 by default, so you should have throttle on the left stick (and it shouldn't spring back to the centre if you let go). While it doesn't matter enormously - you fly multi's with the TX in Acro mode (so it's setup the same as a plane)
The Naza Assistant is the place to set everything up, so if you are moving the left stick up and down when connected to the assistant and something other than throttle is moving, then something is amiss.
Is it possible you've connected the servo wires from the rx to your Naza incorrectly ?
So CH1 goes to A
CH2 goes to E
CH3 goes to T
CH4 goes to R
That's your basic control, to switch modes you'll need to use a another channel and set that up on the radio, so attach CH5 to U. But before that I'd suggest checking out your wiring and making sure on the assistant software as you move the sticks, the expected bars move around first
