Title: Vid 1 of doomed Easy Star
Post by: Flyboysee on January 28, 2013, 08:54:45 AM
This was from the restored Go Pro file from the crash last week. It was shot at 720p, 50fps so played back in slow mo at 25fps. I liked it so I cut this entire vid in slow motion. The next one will be a lot quicker and will end in a spectacular tree crash!

Lovely Rich.  I watched the video back at half the speed on my computer, and it seemed wrong - but watching it on YouTube with the music and everything just fits in nicely.  Great video :)

Hi Flyboysee.
Nice video.  Can you tell me which editing software you are using. When I use 720p 50fps on my gopro and then put it into my pinnacle Studio 15 it drops the frames to 25fps so can't seem to do slowmotion. There is a part of the software where I can slow it down but looks crap going from 25fps. Just can't seem to import video at 50 or 100 fps, it just drops unwanted fromes and goes to 25fps.
I know this is off track in this section.
Thanks
M.

Drone any half decent video editor should allow you to specify the frame rate you want to save to. As far as the native FPS (whatever is on your video file that you import to work on) it should read and understand as you drag your videos in and not alter it.

There is probably a preference setting dialogue under File, or Edit tabs - probably Edit Preferences etc. If not lose that thing quick... I use one notch up from Movie Maker, it's a program called Video Pad from NCH software - free!

Nice flight rich, at that speed it looks so smooth, I expect it was all getting sludgy by now, watch those electrics in the wet.

Thanks all!

The footage was close on unusable - go pro HD just needs sun to be alive, it's the strangest phenomenon... I think every piece of video needs some built in x-factor quality. What that is is hard to say, but there has to be something there to make a nice vid. This video just never had that 'thing' in spite of some nice views. Anyhoo, as it turns out this video's 'thing' is the speed, and Wayne and I stumbled across it quite by accident in the recovered file.

I would never have thought to (nor had the patience) to process half speed, so quite a nice surprise and happy not to throw away otherwise almost usuable video :)

Cheers!
