Hi Everyone, I have a DX8 and plan to use EZUHF in my ZII. I have read somewhere that the specktrum doesn't work well with the EZUHF system. If that is the case which transmitter should I get?. I don't really want to spend any more than £150.

My Dx8 and EZUHF work fine together, ive never had a problem. You have to power the EZ off a separate battery tho.

I was flying with dx8 with ezuhf and ad nothing but trouble. It nearly cost me plane with all the gear in. my advice is get a futaba there the best for ezuhf and also fpv. I fly with futaba t8gf theirs one on bmfa site for £175 and you get free software to upgrade it to a 14 channel tx. I'm sure that other people uses other makes and never ad a problem.

I lost a plane due to ezuhf & dx8 combo, instantly ditched the dx8 for a Futaba 9c for just over £100! No problems since. ;)
I power the Ez off a 3s lipo, some times a 2200mah sometimes a 1000mah.

pound to a penny it was due to that jack plug connector at the back of your dx8 :(
Mine was loose but tightened it before using it with my uhf and never had a moments prob since :D

Thanks everyone for your help, I think I am swayed towards getting a Futaba for the EZUHF. There are two here Futaba T6J 6ch Tx 2.4GHz Fhss M2, R2006GS Rx or Futaba 6EX 2.4 Tx (Mode 2) & R617FS Rx.
They are both around £125.
You'll be better off getting a 8 channel bud. Look at a cap 9, they're cheap & can do 2.4 & UHF plus they're the fpv'ers workhorse - great radios! Cap 9's work on 8chnls in ppm mode.

Good choice to go for the Futaba - BUT suggest you consider waiting to find one with more Channels - fpv systems can 'eat' Channels, such as:
Aileron
Rudder
Throttle
Elevator
Flaps
Camera Pan
Camera Tilt
3 way switch for fly mode
etc.
I am not suggesting you would ever need all of these, but it can be surprising how many Channels you can get to need.
I would say 8ch at least and as has been said they soon get used
I know some people get on fine with it, and I'm no hater - I use DX8 for all my LoS heli's and planes - but I'd really not bother using the DX8 with UHF.
I've read of too many problems, and the designer of the EzUHF (who is privy to seeing far more problems through customer support than any of us) doesn't recommend it as a good choice... There are a few negatives - you can't power the EzUHF from the trainer port, this requires another battery to keep charged and monitored. The ppm voltage levels are lower than ideal and can cause issues in some cases. The plug is prone to disconnection/movement.
I picked myself up a used futaba 10C and it was a great investment. Once you get your head around futaba programming then the advantages are clear... Being able to power goggles, transmitter and EzUHF off one large lipo in the Tx is much more convenient. Only one voltage to monitor means you have less to worry about too. You can even modify a cable so that you can plug into the module port - that frees up the trainer port to allow you to use a buddy lead if you ever want/need to fly legally with a bigger model.
Just as a point of interest, with the new firmware you can actually now have 10/11 channels out of any 8ch system - EzUHF can take 1-3 HT (pan/tilt/roll) channel inputs and tag them on as extra channels. It is also now compatible with up to 12 ppm channels in total.
As Zee Said, use Dx8 for LOS stuff but avoid for UHF, just thought I'd post a little reading & a vid of what happened to mine & the thread I had with Immersion RC about it - makes an interesting read.

Wow!! Great responses. I think I was being short sighted and thinking 6 channels would be enough but I'm sure I will soon out grow that now after taking onboard all of you advice. Thanks again guys and girls :-)
