Hi mate that's two. Meets
http://www.fpvuk.org/forum/index.php?topic=1151.0 (http://www.fpvuk.org/forum/index.php?topic=1151.0)
Yes I saw the other one but I think we also need one down South. Perhaps we could plan them at least 6-8 weeks apart to better suit people that may wish to attend both.
-Angelos
Ahh right cool yeah sounds good nice location aswell.
107 miles away for me - im in!
:-)
Hi Angelos,
This sounds great! I'd love to attend.
All the best
Simon
Sounds good! Will come if I can - family hols withstanding...
I am up for that Angelos. I like the idea of the clumps as the views in the surrounding area would be good.
I'll be there!
Oh go on then you old goat... add me to the list, as either one is only 10mins from my house :D :D
Better add DazButty as well - he may well have been the first one to FPV from the white horse, and only lives a couple of streets away from me!
Any news on the Vtx/ Ground Station project yet Angelos?
Paul
So what date is going to be set for this.....
How does 14-15 May sound?
EDIT: Dates set... 25-26 June 2011.
-Angelos
Same time as another meet and france too, i cant do three in a month lol :(
Which other meet?
-Angelos
Chris has arranged one for late may, the french big meet is at the start of may at l'aigle
Since we all live within a reasonable distance we could make this into a monthly meet with different locations chosen each time.

My bad, I didn't realise that other meets had been scheduled for May. Do you have a URL for the French one? Is that also FPV?
Summer time is quite busy with people going on holiday and attending other RC events thus I will propose to move the Oxfordshire FPV meet to September. If there are any more conflicting dates in Sept please let me know.
In the meantime it would be nice to get together for a day's flying with people from my area (I saw some from Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire).

I'm sure you guys know this BUT France has a Limited 2.4ghz range unlike the UK...
Be very careful if you use 2.4ghz in France... they use the 2.4ghz band for some important stuff... which is why a lot of Transmitters have a Button to limit there frequencies if used in France.
They dont have a website for it, normally a rcg thread starts up with all the details in the new year :)
Here's the URL for last year's L'Aigle: http://aeroimmersion.free.fr/Meeting09.htm (http://aeroimmersion.free.fr/Meeting09.htm)
Its usually the weekend around the 8th of the month.
Last year we had 100 FPV pilots fly.
Every frequency is used (they couldn't care less about the rules) but they do have a VERY sophisticated computerised frequency control system which takes account of your flying frequency and your video frequency and puts you into slots with other suitable systems. The system even takes a photo of you and prints you out a ticket on a supermarket receipt printer!
They've also got receivers on all the video channels going into several diversities, then a TV with a splitter into 4 quarters, then they can see if anyone turns on any of the frequencies in the pits/ indoor area and shout at you to turn it off!
Some of the FPV big shots are there including Trappy, Sander, Denis Graton (VRFlyer), AnthonyRC, etc, etc. and they have catering for a big evening meal, food during the day, raffle, etc.
Its very well organised and its great fun. It would be a shame for events to clash.
All the best
Simon
Ah makes sense
Thanks :)
The FPV meet in l'aigle looks good. I just had a quick look and read through of the supplied link. Now I wonder if I can plan a family holiday around the same time to the area

Simon
Sounds Good it won't take me long to get ther from London. ;D
regards Gordon
That is almost doable for me... any more details about locations, organisation etc?
Pasty,
we will announce the venues on the day. For travel distance estimation use Didcot, Oxfordshire. The venues are some of my and Paul's (Yogz) favorites and all have their own unique appeal for FPV. I'll try get some FPV screenshots in due course. Paul back me up here... tell them how great they are! ;)
-Angelos
I'm coming from FPV heaven, Cornwall is hard to beat! a 600mile round trip would need to be worth it. Lets see those screen shots :)
Any restrictions on gear?
This is also the site for evening flying and camping.

Also a panorama. You may need to have Microsoft Silverlight installed to view it.

looks great... we need to erect some buildings, hedges, trees and general obsticles to play with tho.
Anyone got a bouncey castle?
So Paul (Yogz) and I have been "testing" the flying challenges of FPV Bounce location 1. As the event name requires, Paul ends the flight with a bouncy landing whilst I bounce of a tree... GPS torn of the wing and rests in peace somewhere in thick vegetation!

I think the lane will keep everyone busy... and bonus points for whoever manages to pass through the narrow opening under the trees at 0:54.

I'm In Angelos and can back a couple of the bounces to be top notch.

FPV Bounce 25-26 June
ONE WEEK TO GO!
So far 16 people have expressed interest in coming to FPV Bounce and a few more undecided. This could be the biggest FPV event in the UK.
In the next day or two I will email details about the meet up location, flying sites, contact phone numbers, etc. If you are interested in coming to FPV Bounce please make sure you PM me and provide your email address.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Doh, I forgot to include myself, Paul (Yogz) and some friends... so the current count for FPV Bounce is now 20+.
-Angelos
Wing now built less testing it!
I'll be there.
Cheers
Steve
Angelos, thanks for the videos - but when I click on them I get 'This video is private' :(
I grew up near you, learnt my flying on Port Meadow, White Horse Hill, Boars Hill... ah, your stills bring it all back!
Got back home at about 10pm.
great day
Cheers Angelos
yes great day thanks Angelos/Paul ;) for organizing it, got back at 1am.
regards G
now thats dedication :)
glad you boys had a good one!
Saturday ended with a bit of LOS night flying that lasted until 23.45. An old colleague of mine spotted the weird looking aircraft and paid us a visit suspecting that I was responsible for the recent UFO sightings.
Right now I am waiting for the hot glue gun to warm up to fix a camera on my FunJet and will catch up with the others that already started the Sunday flying.
-Angelos
Hi all
Her is a short video of the Oxfordshire meeting, its early and a lot of the guys wear in ther cars getting ther kit out, I kept forgetting I had the camera on me, sorry.

FPV Meeting (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2xnq4_p5Fc&feature=player_profilepage#ws)
Cracking day, great to catch up & see new faces too.
Lots of gear on show to keep me occupied when not flying.
With plenty of spotters on hand & the general flying guideslines adhered too, meant time slots were not needed.
I got a special tour of Spartan HQ which let me see the new tiny Spartan/DOSD++ with IMU, Dragon trax, NFX Lights & the Spartan Triverstiy GS.
Not only that but Angelos saved my plane from certain death later. At 'the dump' i was getting familiar with the area when the wind took me overhead & behind my patch, trying to get back i made it worse, now with no video at all i hear shouts of 'pull-up', 'turn left', 'turn right' then Angelos instinctively took over on his buddy system to regain control.

Im pretty sure that lake would of been my landing zone!
Excellent piloting skills Angelos, that could of so easily ruined an awsome day.
:-)
Is there likely to be another meeting in this region next year?
is there another meeting happening anytime soon?
Will this happen this year ?
Let me add my voice as well - moving to Thame, Oxfordshire in a month - will there be an event 2012?
Hi Guys
