I have an FY-31AP setup on my wing at the moment and I LOVE IT.. It fills me with confidence and has never let me down (other than when I stupidly launch without gathering a GPS fix :-[ ).
I'm looking at the FY-41AP longingly because:
- Its a much simpler setup having a singular unit.
- It comes with its own power manager/ubec (much like the NAZA).
- And its got a 3D flight mode unlike the previous versions.
Plus its not a bank breaker at just over £200.
There seems to be mixed videos on youtube, some of the earlier versions of the firmware had some problems but the later releases seem better?
Im keen to follow this as I am thinking of getting one as well. Wont be for a couple of months so will stayed tuned.
From the brief parts I have read on RCgroups a lot of people are speaking highly of them.

I`m the same, I think I will buy a couple to replace my FY31`s if :
They are shown to work reliably
The current sensor is now accurate
Both reply on reports back from users so at this point I`m waiting :)
After reading a few initial threads from the first people to commit it seems like the FY41AP blows the FY31AP away, they are coming back with great flight reports. All say the firmware needs updating out the box, but Auto Balance Mode which was not shabby on the FY31AP is mile better on the FY41AP.
Seems like its going to be another winning AP system :)

I'm just about to put one in my Bixler 2 (until my Skywalker arrives)
Only problem at the moment is,
Everytime I go to fit it, they bring out a new update lol.
I'm also curious to know how good/bad the multi-copter firmware is for it :)
I just know it's going to be a winner! Will get one for my next build. FY is the shizz already in my opinion :)
I have the FY41AP in my Bixler. It is BLOOMIN GREAT!!
HOWEVER BE WARNED!! If you are using Windows 8 the USB will NOT work to program / update the firmware. You will need to get another USB cable with a more up to date chip in it. You MUST update the software and the latest version is pretty much bug free, the previous was a bit dodgy!! Make sure you update it out of the box with nothing plugged in to before you install it in the airframe as you can't have anything plugged into the unit whilst it is connected to the USB.
The ABM mode and RTL work great and the OSD is good to.
You can adjust your setting through the OSD so no need to plug in to the computer once you have updated the firmware.

I like it the more I fly with it.
Mah consumed bug is a bit annoying,
But other than that it's great.
Never went in my bixler though skywalker arrived quicker than expected.

Apparently there was an issue on the FY41AP... I believe the new firmware has a 'custom fudge factor' feature added.
Hmm, the one and only improvement I was hoping for over the Hornet / 31AP was they fixed the mah being completely miles out, looks like its still an issue then
