This FC was bought as part of a fully built Quad F450. This post serves as information to anyone who is having trouble with compass, Auto Level and RTH functions.

Its been a few months and a few crashes later, not all the crashes were my fault though.. :)

Firstly I found that it had been installed with a Steel plate underneath it!!! instead of an Alluminium plate, thus buggering up the compass!

Secondly the FC was mounted in the middle of the quad, right on top of the live electrics that run inside the plates.....this probably also buggered compass and a few other things. I have moved the FC to the top deck.

Thirdly have placed some breathable foam on top of the Altimeter sensor. This is vital to do in order that the sensor works properly.

Forthly (did I spell that right?) I upgraded the firmware to latest under mission planner and also updated to latest parameters, also reset compass and got the correct declination set followed by compass calibration involving the "quad dance"..... :yahoo:

I test flew the quad this morning and all functions now work as they should.
