Hi guys, iv had a nose about and haven't found what iv been looking for..
Basically, im looking for an FPV kit, basic one and an advanced one.. either a list of suggested parts (UK) or somewhere that will supply all the parts KIT form..
Iv got a Bixler2 and a Diamond 2500 that id like to kit out for fpv but as a newbie im finding all the bits n bobs a little bamboozling!
The other thing.. as a HAM license holder (intermediate) i wonder if i can legally run more TX power??

Welcome mate - where are you from, perhaps someone nearby can show you the basics?
Failing that - you're right, this forum is a wealth of knowledge (and mickey taking when things go not-so-brilliantly :P :laugh: ) so you've certainly come to the right place.
A HAM license is only of assistance for ground-based transmissions. Our transmitters fly through the air, so a HAM license is irrelevant. Of course, good knowledge of RF fundamentals won't hurt your FPV experience at all so if you have one, you're already halfway there :)
If you like, feel free to check out the tutorials I wrote at the site in my sig below - that'll get you started with basic equipment requirements etc. (I hope).
Feel free to keep badgering people on here for info too - after 10 posts or so, you'll unlock various other features on the forum for instance live chat with the rest of us, and you'll no longer have to enter a captcha to post on the forum.

Im very keen to get one or the other up and running, the more videos i watch the bigger the gap between reality & the deapth of my pockets! so maybe this place isnt for me!! lol.. im kidding of course.
I was looking at some of the Hobby King kits but im not sure of the quality! so am looking a little closer to home..

The most expensive (no pun intended) lesson I learned in this hobby is that you get what you pay for :)
When you start out invest wisely in the gear that you are likely to keep i.e. the RC transmitter, video receiver etc. and make sure your first airframe albeit a plane or multi-rotor is something that is forgiving and stable.
The most economical starting point would be 2.4ghz RC and 5.8ghz video.
I'm sure there would be very few disagreements if I said ImmersionRC offer the most robust video TX/RX solutions but you will have to spend a few quid, however you wont regret it :D
This is a wallet stripping hobby but you will reap the rewards :)
Agree on the ImmersionRC Equipment its spot on.
Firstpersonview.co.uk offers a very good UK Based service and when i had to return something the service was very fast. I would suggest you have a good look on there, However having a nose myself it seems alot of his bundles have gone missing from his site so give them a call im sure they will tailor something for you.
