Title: Eztracker bad packets
Post by: jwmachon on July 04, 2013, 10:33:10 PM
Well got my tracker setup and it works yippee thanks Simon

Went out today to test and it tracked perfectly now the problem I have is bad packets

Rate of less than 57%

Connected it to audio right on the vtx to osd

Sound coming from duo5800 to eztracker

Audio level when close goes from high to ok

I understand that these value are low so what shall I check

Is it worth messing with the volume pot a little

Is audio right the correct one

Thanks

Jonny

P.s from vtx to osd I have yellow video and green audio right and all works should I have black ground connected

Yes you should have black connected too

Low audio is normally a bad connection on the jack plug of the tracker or a mic on the vtx screwing the signal up

What are the audio levels like? On the tiny telemetry and ezosd you can bump the audio levels up if they are low.

Audio ranges from high to ok so that looks ok not having ground connected wont effect it will it that's just if I'm poweing cam from vtx isn't it but the can is powered seperatly

Check out what version of firmware you have on both the EZOSD and the EZAntennaTracker as I've had the same problem recently when they were mismatched.

EZOSD v1.14 (old) with EZAntennaTracker v1.10 (old) = Works fine
EZOSD v1.20 (new) with EZAntennaTracker v1.10 (old) = 50%+ bad packets
EZOSD v1.20 (new) with EZAntennaTracker v1.14 (new) = Works fine

here's my story on what I found.....

A couple of weeks back I upgraded the firmware on two of my five EZOSD's to v1.20 (from 1.14)

Problems showed up straight away with bad packets on the AZAntenna tracker, showing between 52% to 57%

Tried the EZOSD's through two different 5.8vtx set-ups, and two different 2.4vtx set-ups and they all gave these figures.

My other EZOSD's on v1.14 worked perfectly when plugged in, 100% solid good

One of the v1.14's was then unplugged, flashed to 1.20 and tried, it gave the 52% reading !
flashed it back to v1.14 and it gave 100% good

Then I checked my EZAntenna tracker firmware version, it was at v1.10
quick check on ImmersionRC site and they say v1.14 is latest for their tracker AND recommend updating your EZOSD to 1.20 to work best with it.........

I updated my tracker to the latest v1.14, and tried it with an EZOSD on v1.20 and everything fine and 100% good packets.

So, check what version your tracker shows on start up, and what version your EZOSD shows
If you have v1.10 on tracker AND v1.20 on EZOSD I'd say that's the problem and just upgrade your tracker to the latest v1.14

Hope that helps  :)

I bet that's the problems as I am fairly sure Jonny had not updated the firmware on it.

Cheers for pointing that out, probably saved hours of prattling about.
