I spent a bit of time testing out the RTH feature on my TBS discovery and DJI Naza combo this evening. I'm running software 3.12 on the Naza, and I have a switch on the TX, which invokes failsafe mode. The RTH bit works surprisingly well. I did about 6 failsafe events, and the furthest landing from take off point was about 2.5 metres away.
However, one thing I did notice, was that as teh Naza is slowly descending, when it touches the ground, it was climibing up 6 inches or so, then landing again. It was doing it 4 or 5 times per landing, without fail.
Anyone any ideas why this might happen?

I did wonder if it was something to do with some pressure fluctuations due to the prop wash when it gets really low down. It showed no signs of tipping over, just a little vertical hop a few times when landing!

Yes its just making sure its not shutting down the motors thinking its on the floor when its not I would think
I find it varies... Usually if touching down on short grass or Tarmac it doesn't bounce too much.
As mentioned its just part of the ground detection I think. Sometimes it's not quite sure if its landed or not.
