Title: Building a Hexacopter - The Journey (1ST Build, Maidens, Crashes, DIY Rebuild)
Post by: ashley leung on November 25, 2013, 09:10:05 PM
Hi guys,

Here is a video documenting my journey building a hexacopter, it has been a steep learning curve but i'm slowly getting there.  Going to be embarking into FPV & gimbals soon after a decision is made as to what frame I'll be using, I can't wait! I hope you like the video, please drop me a line or add me on Youtube if you have an account, looking forward to seeing your videos too : )

All the best,

Ash

Great story Ashley and well put together into the video. Just about everybody on here has been through the same tough learner curve, most have come out the other end and keep on learning and improving.

Was that Woolaton Park? If so, see  http://www.fpvhub.com/fpv-videos/21/woolaton-hall-nottingham/17088/msg142330#msg142330 (http://www.fpvhub.com/fpv-videos/21/woolaton-hall-nottingham/17088/msg142330#msg142330)

Thanks guys,

Hahha, reactions are the best when it takes off indoors and comes towards my head ; )
Mick, you based in Nottingham then? Haven't had the chance to bump into anyone flying multi rotors yet, how often do you fly in Notts?

Very nice vid Ash, we have all been on the same journey it's really good to see it in video, perfect into for people new to the hobby if you ask me. The indoor flight was class, I know I did some thing like it not quite as big as a hex just the tricopter (mrs near killed me haha). Best lesson I ever learned with the was to remember the old rule. Tx on first and off last, got a nice prop gash down my back for forgetting it. Landed the tri thought I had disarmed it turned tx off then knocked the throttle to full by accident and hit the no button with my chest. All that when I was stood over it. Lesson well learned from carbon props and a scar to remember it. Keep up the vid making :-)

Hey ash, I just posted this on your youtube as I've too few posts to private message you. Great video! I'm in nottingham and trying to get into FPV, I currently only have a plane capable of carrying the equipment (bixler v1.1) but I'm interested in building a quad, would be awesome to meet up and fly sometime!
