Apparently DJI are going to honour their promise to discount Phantom V1.1 + Zenmuse H3-2D customers AND they will be chucking in a second battery!
Can't wait to get my hands on one..
This is another one of those times when DJI gives you a big kiss while kneeing you in the balls.
The improved battery life of this makes it a no brainer (for me), BUT I have it on good authority that we're not going to be able to use existing H3-2D gimbals, so if you want to go down that route it's means buying the version with the H3-2D. :(
I intend to buy the bundle and sell my old one :)
I'm in the lucky position of having a spare transmitter to so I'll probably sell it as a full working setup..
That looks interesting. I wonder what the weight will be? I've got a 1.1 Phantom with tarot gimbal and 9" Phantom vision props. It fly well and weighs in at 1230g with GoPro and a Vtx for FPV.
With a 5200mah battery the Phantom 2 with a gimbal must be about 1400g.
I thought the max for a Phantom was around the 1200g mark. Would the 9" props make that big a difference?

AUW of the Phantom 2 Vision is 1160g... I'd guess the Vision gimbal and gubbins are slightly lighter than the zenmuse setup..
The GCU is integrated into the main-board on the Phantom 2 Zenmuse so that saves some weight.. and there are far fewer cables and the motors are tiny!
Thanks for that :)
Regarding H3-2D Gimbal compatibility; I emailed firstpersonview and had a reply saying that the existing gimbal definitely won't be compatible with the phantom2.
However, I also fired off an email to DJI and just received a reply from a DJI technical representative in Germany telling me that the existing H3-2D WILL be compatible, but will require a new mount plate.
I'm hoping he's correct... and hoping said plates will be available with the new phantoms.
Just a pity that dealers aren't furnished with answers to obvious question like this from the get go.
DJI are too far up their arseholes marketing the Vision to give a damn about us 'real customers', the ones that will come back and buy more :P
Just get the feiyu tech g3 - looks like it's better than the zenmuse anyway to me.
The Zenmuse is real nice.. Very light weight too and the GCU is built into the phantom which simplifies things..
That G3 does look nice though (albeit a bit fragile) :D

The zen is a great gimbal, I just don't want to have to buy another one. (!)
They are only £230 at the moment.
Umm, but that's a data link kit and change for pop and crisps
Still waiting for the impending release :D
"Officially Released" today :)
I'm trying to get some details on the 150 USD discount and once I do I'm going to pull the trigger :D
Woopsy just bought one ;D Merry Christmas to me!
