Title: DIY Power Distribution Board
Post by: tomeparker on December 20, 2013, 04:04:47 PM
I'm putting together my Tarot 810 Hex which is running a 6S and am looking at keeping the plethora of wires to a minimum. The plan is to make a power distribution board to link all the ECSs to the battery.

I've got some doubled sided copper clad fiber glass, not sure how thick it is, is there any reason why I can't make one using this?

Thanks!

I wouldnt think so, you would just need to be really careful about not shorting it. I thought about doing this for my tricopter but the thought of having bare copper on there just seems too dodgy for my liking.

No reason not to.  I made one in exactly the same way for an old quad.  You could either just make one side of the board + and the other -. Or if you have access to etch your own PCB's, could use the attached PDF, so that all connections are on one side of the board.

or you could just make up a wired version like hobby king do.

It all depends really, as long as you have decent width of copper to support the load being pulled by the motors you should be fine. The separation given by the board is plenty for low voltage DC so as long as there are no shorts your fine :)

Or save yourself the guess work and get a made board for peanuts
