Title: Hobbyking 1800mm Consolodated PBY 5a quick dunk..
Post by: Granpaw Jonah on January 02, 2014, 10:46:49 PM
.. Hey.. here's the PBY inauge.. innaugr... PBYs' first trip on the water. Unfortunately it's very short and you don't get to see the real shenanigans with me trying to take off as the camera batteries run out....bah! More bad planning.  I touched a float just before take off and it span the plane round big stylee, tearing a sponson off! Retrieved ok, shortened and resecured. This waterbird is not going to be as easy to get into the air as the Beaver. The water is the pond seen in 'FPV Calceby nature reserve'... totally surrounded by trees...tricky. Soz 'bout the sniffin'... had a chill...

Been waiting for this one!, looks like plenty of room there, but you might have a long wait for a calm enough day for a maiden! can't wait to see her in the air, best of luck with her mate.

.....Cheers guys... good to hear from you all. ....Mr C,... Dizz... I think you're right, it's going to involve perfecting a technique, she sits far lower in the water than the foam PBYs. Charlie.. lots of room inside. Temptation is to go for too big a battery. I might've made this mistake. That's a 5000mAh 4s onboard... I might have to reduce this to a 3000mAh, depends on COG really.
