Title: Mudders ZII
Post by: Mudders on January 11, 2014, 06:37:54 PM
Thought I'd post a piccy of my ZII. I've slowly been building it in between work over the last month or so. It only needs the gizmo's inside setting up now (ET and taranis stuff).

How long till the maiden? I need to get a grip on this complicated Taranis and ETree system (so for an old 38year old numpty maybe quite a while!), I'm having troubles at the moment getting the logger set up, I get errors when trying to send the info to it.

If I can sort it maybe 25th Jan, I'm of to my favorite WW1 aerodrome that weekend.

This whole set up (including TX) is from http://www.efpv.co.uk/ (http://www.efpv.co.uk/)

How much depends on what you want to put in it. I opted for the recommended esc and motor and Eagle Tree system with stabilisation and RTH.

Cheers matey,

Maiden at Stow on 25th or 26th Jan, IF I can suss the ET out. My head hurts! I eventually got your file to work, but ailerons are reversed, and one elevon always moves more than the other (port for down ele and starboard for up!), I can't work out how to reverse them unless I try on the tx.

When I try and run the servo wizard even that wont write, some warning comes up 'OSD Pro Board is not connected. Please connect the OSD and try again' but it is!

Anyway, your welcome to come play then if your up for it  :)

Cool, sounds like a plan!!!

If you're up this way anytime soon I'll come meet you for a look.

Try re flashing the firmware mate that may help. Also make sure your stabiliser gain is at minimum or it might cause uneven movement.

Bring up display servo defections from one of the menu options too, helps with setup.

Happy to help out with it if you need me to

Don't suppose you know where to find the servo deflection screen mate? I searched but...

I just reflashed everything but it's all the same.

Cheers mate, I'll try anything.

After some more playing, I think the only problem I have is reversed elevator. Am I right in thinking I should NOT do this from the TX?

It depends how you've got your servos plugged in, if you can't get the right deflections switch over the servos in the plugs on the osd

No need mate, it's sorted, cheers  ;)

Now, control throws, I assume I set those in the TX?

Cool, how did you sort it?

Yeah control throws set in tx, I just dial down the end points, never had any need for rates as if you set 12mm aileron travel from centre & 10mm elevator travel from centre it'll fly like a dream.

Don't for get to set your reflex, 4-6 clicks of up trim ;)
