I have a KK2 with firmware 1.6 mounted on a tricopter. I dont have any CCW props so I want to use 3 identical props with it.
The KK2 only gives me one motor layout option for the tricopter and it requires 2 motors to spin clockwise and one counter clockwise. I dont see how I can make this work with identical props but reading various posts, it seems to be possible.
What am I missing here?
You can use identical props on it - though obviously get the motors to spin appropriately. The only thing you'll have to do differently is if you use a different prop than the motor layout suggests on the motor with the yaw. If this spins the other way, then you'll have to reverse the yaw value in the motor mixer. IIRC it's default is 100, change this to -100
It's easy to spot if this is wrong as you'll see you tricopter spin faster and faster on the spot - as unless it's reversed it tries to correct yaw in the wrong direction, so just adds more of it.

Or why not just buy a CCW prop?
Thanks for the help. I would use CCW props but I dont have any lying around now so I wanted to get it going without.
Thanks for the help. All works now. I guess I got confused with the diagram on the KK2 showing how the motors need to rotate when in fact you can ignore that completely.
