At the moment when I select RTH the FY keeps the current altitude and I'm normally pretty happy with that; However it would be useful to be able to specify a minimum RTH altitude, there's nothing obvious in the manual but I'm wondering if there is some hidden feature in the later firmware that allows this? I've had a quick google and there is nothing obvious.
Does anyone know if there is such a feature?
Cheers! :)
I have a 41AP and the RTH on that is the same as the 31AP in that the RTH is at the SAME height it was invoked at. This includes Failsafe. Also, in all navigation modes except failsafe (when it is assumed the Tx or Rx has failed) the pilot has control of the throttle, even in RTH. I agree that this is a bit weird when all it would take it a mod in the code to enable a safe circle climb to a pre determined height. I have passed this thought onto FY along with a sugestion that they enable a change from metric to imperial on the OSD and they put a LC filter in the power monitor. I had a very nice reply from there R&D guy almost immediately saying they would look into it for a future firmware update. For my next plane I am torn between another 41 or a Ruby cos the Ruby has those features but does not have the airspeed monitor.
Further to my earlier e mail: There has been a firmware update to the Fy-41 which corrects a few bugs etc. One of the new features is that RTH will make the model climb to 50 meters before tracking to home. If the model is over 100m when home is reached it will descend to 100m circling.
I also email them suggesting a user defined rth height.
And still waiting.
Think that was about a year ago.
I have heard the rth height can be set in the gsc software.
. But there is no mention anywhere of this is only active whilst using the data link setup.
I'll try it one day when I get the time and patience.
