Hey...... I've got this gorgeous little thing from Walkera, their flybarless 3G 'copter. I've had it since Feb '12 and yesterday had flights 73,74 & 75. ALL that time I've been wanting a new battery. Can I source one?? People like Moonhobby have them in their catalogue but NEVER have them in stock, they're all Chinese firms none of whome answer emails. Walkera are just dreadful and I have never had any acknowledgement from them.......pooh! So, anyway, on my 10 000 000 000th search through the web I found a battery at where??? Hobbyking of course. Turnigy 1300mAh, 7.4v 25c 'Suitable for 1/18th scale trucks'.Now I say it's the battery, it's just a 2 cell that fits the battery bay, ie 100mm x 30mm x 14mm. It is smaller capacity, 1300mAh 25C rather than 1500mAh 25C.... no matter, as flights on my one and only (original) battery are down to 6 minutes from 9-ish minutes in the early days things are just getting urgent.
Battery arrived. The connector end has a sort of spongy bulge which prevents the hatch staying closed. Can you hear the exasperation in my voice?? Anyway I've used a little tape to keep it closed....how gash! So the battery has flight no 74......... 5 mins and she's struggling with altitude so I have to land..... more exasperation. ..... charged it up to find there's only an effective 970 mAh . .... :-X
So, if anyone has any idea of a (U.K.?) source of the Walkera battery I need, I'd love to hear from you.
