Title: Heavy Lift 130cm Octo Build a.k.a. "Little Baby"
Post by: Marcin_GUmeR on January 22, 2014, 08:56:43 PM
Hello :)

Just wanted to share my latest creation.

(http://s18.postimg.org/dnqz8597p/20140122_193139.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/dnqz8597p/)(http://s18.postimg.org/qugf7o4x1/20140122_194042.jpg) (http://postimg.org/image/qugf7o4x1/)

Firstly, I have to give credit to Redemptioner from RCGroups (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1903557 (http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1903557)). He inspired the build and provided hugely useful guidance.

Having said that, here is some info:
- 130cm F1000-M8 CF frame
- Turnigy 4830-420Kv pancake motors
- Hobby King 40A ESC's with SimonK
- 15x5.5 props
- Arducopter autpilot

I'm especially proud from 3d printed electronics housing. It has glued down transparent acrylic cover. This makes flight controller etc. rain proof.

I'm very happy to share more details, let me know what you think!

Marcin

what's RTF weight ? with and without gimbal.

Weight, no batteries, no gimbal: 4.5kg
Add 1.5kg for each 10Ah battery set you want to put on.

Dunno with gimbal as I still need to get a proper camera (GoPro looks a bit funny on it!)
