just tried to buy some bits from hobbyking. selected uk warehouse, selected the bits, went to checkout, postage options, airmail to uk! backstepped a bit and found that i have to select "uk warehouse" somewhere else along the way. so now i have to start again, if i can be bothered.
f(*%ing hobbyking.
Yeah....where it says 'warehouse' on the screen by category selection. Have to choose UK.
Keukpa
have now ordered them. have to make sure you click on the uk bit on each part, not the add to cart bit. not necesserily obvious to a luddite like me, who doesn't order much from them.
you just have to make sure that the item you're adding to the basket is actually the "uk warehouse" version of the item. That way the checkout will always give you the UK postage options.
I do that all the time - mixed international items!
bummer...

You can do it with one click :)
Hover the mouse over the Global warehouse section on the left side.
Then you get 3 options
Global, Uk, and Euro.
Here's a quick screenshot :)

Once you have selected uk warehouse,
You'll not need to worry about mixing it with the others.
This is true - it's not normally a problem I must admit.
There is one annoying caveat to this, and that's the search function. So you can be merrily in the UK warehouse adding crap to your basket, but if you then enter a search term, the results will come from all the warehouses, and it acts as a kind of"back door" back into the international warehouse (or others)
So watch out for searching !
In my limited experience of HK their customer response to queries is far too slow. It's also really annoying when they have stock of what you want in other locations but can't seem to get it to the UK warehouse. That said, their prices seem quite good and the dollar rate is getting better for us in the UK.
Yeah its just taken them 4 weeks to sort out a faulty hd wing cam 2.

just tried to order a couple of their new 250 size frames and those nice looking multistar motors, twice. ffs, first time "your cart is empty" right at the last moment. second time "something went wrong". maybe i'll try again later in the week, maybe. >:( >:( >:( :hammershead: :wtf: :censored:
Iv ordered once from HobbyKing many year ago...That was enough for me! Too plastic fantastic for my likey! Buy some where close to home if you can ^-^
Had about sixty odd orders, no problems with any of them. Just lucky I guess.

the problem is, that most hobby stores stock the same low quality plastic crap, that HK does.
So for cheap models it doesn't make too much of a difference.
Where HK shines is hardware, fittings etc.pp.
I'd love to support my local shops more, than I do, but the selection of hardware etc. is shocking at best - especially if you are looking for heavy duty and quality stuff (servo horns e.g.).
So my choices are cheap shit from my LHS or quality stuff from HK.
Yes, they do have a great selection of stuff, but I always find stuff I need is out of stock, typical :)
There's a great model shop near me called 'Spire Models' In Salisbury, well old school has *E V E R Y T H I N G* like an old Ironmongers!
Also, I like to see and touch stuff where I can. I'm a kind of 'Ill builds it in my head' kind of guy so I know what I need when I see it
I will say that HK does have great descriptions on all of the items!
Spire models.... you kept that a secret ;)
Will go for a day trip, load your wallet with money because you will come home with loads of stuff :+
I got some pictures i took of it, i will post them!
Won't ever use HobbyKing again - poor customer service and poor quality products - oh if you ever want to return an item...forget it!

just don't moan about paying UK prices.
people take the risk with hobbyking because the prices are so good.
some you win, some you lose... but I can guarantee that i've saved more money than I've lost by using hobbyking.
